yikes whats your thoughts on Dahlen?

He had a good game one.. quite good. Right now (without seeing the rest of the preseason and no injuries) this is my lineup:

Meier - Hertl - Barabanov = Barabanov wont have a long leash here but he should be given the chance the lose the role (which is a good thing, earn you job without the previous results now)

Dahlen - Couture - Labanc = Dahlen has been good enough to get an offensive look. He’s got more punch to his offence than Balcers or Leonard.

Leonard/ Balcers - Bonino - Chmelevski = Chmelevski has been much more impressive than Dahlen but should be kept at a RW position. Leonard/ Balcers is kinda a toss. Balcers played well but Leonards potential to thrive more here is what I like.

Balcers/ Leonard - Weatherby - Gambrell = Solid 4th line with everyone here having a tight leash as they know they got guys waiting to steal their job and Weatherby has been fun to watch.

Eklund and Ryan Merkley have been standouts so far but Chmelevski and Hill (not really a prospect) have been by far number 1 candidates for NHL jobs. I’d like to see more from Dahlen. He’s been good don’t get me wrong but Eklund has impressed at 18 and is gonna be gunning for a job within the new year if he’s eligible to appear. Wiesblatt and Robins have honestly been very promising to be prospects to get ready for. Raska continues many fans hopes: being a new Reaves/ Wilson/ Goodrow style player. He really plays grinder hockey but seems to find a consistent flow off his work ethic and could become a useable middle 6 mainstay. Dahlen has steep competition despite being placed in my own top 6.

I don’t think he’ll lose a spot to many of these names (other names are like Gregor, Nieto, Pedersen, Viel, N Merkley) within 2021.. but come mid season (2022) Dahlens time will be up and he’d better be still building of his good start (went on a long tangent to answer your question lmfao mb just felt like writing).

I agree. There's even a legit chance they miss the playoffs. I'd probably have them at 3rd place right now (behind the canes and pens I guess).

No chance. They have very few holes and young players who are likely to breakout (Wahlstrom, Dobson). Best goaltending tandem in the league, top D pairing in the league. Great center core.

The most overrated team coming into this season is the Panthers.

And the most underrated team is the Stars.

We just held the Blues to OT with our AHL squad. Out of everyone that was playing only a couple are going to make our main roster: Kero (scratch or 12th forward), Gardner (scratch), Hanley, (scratch), Hakanpaa (6th defensemen), and Holtby (backup).

The Blues had: Binnington, Krug, Faulk, O’Reilly, Buch, Perron, Kyrou and Schenn playing.

They got worse this offseason, and last year they were just 4th in the East. I think they make it but regular season isles are a different team from playoff isles.

They did not get worse. Nick Leddy was their worst defenseman last year. This is the deepest team they’ve had since Trotz became head coach

Not a bad goal by Eriksson

Honestly would not be surprised if the Coyotes somehow squeeze 20goals out of him lul

Honestly in that weak division would not be surprised if the Coyotes somehow squeeze 20goals out of him lul

Is the central really considered weak? 5 of 8 teams made the playoffs last year, Dallas should bounce back (maybe not cup finalists, but likely back to a playoff team), and Chicago added the Vezina winner, Seth Jones (not a 1D but still improves their team), and will get their two best centres back. Seems pretty stacked, wouldn’t be surprised if Arizona scored less than 2 goals per game in that division tbh, there’s a lot of good defensive teams and they’ve already lost 3 of their top 7 goal scorers from last year (Dvorak, Garland, Bunting), will likely trade their top goal scorer (Kessel), and Chychrun will likely regress to around 15-20 goals (he was on pace for 26 last year), maybe less because he has nobody to play with.

Oh yeah I forgot the Coyotes werent in the pacific anymore lul

Anyways would not surprise me if Eriksson is put with Schmaltz and Kessel he scores 20goals while everyone else regresses as it just seems like a Coyote thing to happen

I wasn't thinking of him, but for arguments sake we'll say Leddy=Chara.

On the other hand, Eberle>>>Panik.

The loss of Eberle will hurt them in goal scoring, he was one of their best scorers. In the regular season I expect them to be 3rd or wildcard. Regular season isles are a slightly above average team at best. They just know when to turn it on in the playoffs.

The loss of Eberle could be quite easily diminished by Wahlstrom's emergence and a full season of Palmieri.

True, I forgot about Wahlstrom.

But even if the isles didn't get worse, my opinion stays the same. They've never been a good regular season team in the lou-trotz era, at least not 1st place in their division good.

Panik won’t be a regular. The isles are going from Eberle and Palmieri to Lee and Palmieri. Lee was out for most of the season with an ACL injury. They also added Parise who despite being 37 YO is still a very good middle 6 wing. They had Komarov/Zajac in that spot last season so Parise is a pretty significant upgrade.

I’m not arguing the isles will finish 1st, I already said they’ll finish 2nd or 3rd. I’m just saying they’re a lock for the playoffs. I wouldn’t even be surprised if they finished 4th, but I think it’s more likely they finish 2nd or 3rd

Ok, maybe saying they could miss is a little extreme come to think of it.

Absolutely stunned that Tom Brady went to a team with scrubs like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Tristan Wirfs, Rob Gronkoswki, Ali Marpet, Jason Pierre-Paul, Devin White, Lavigne David, Antoine Winfield, Shaq Barret, Vita Vea, Jordan Whitehead and Carlton Davis and STILL won a super bowl. This is why he’s the goat obviously

Nah Blake Comeau carried a team with scrubs like Miro Heiskanen, Roope Hintz, Tyler Seguin, Joe Pavelski, John Klingberg, Alexander Radulov, Jamie Benn, Denis Gurianov, Joel Kiviranta and Esa Lindell to the finals. He didn't win because he had mercy on the other team.

That just proves how he's the goat obviously.

(I’m not supporting Kane), but definitely feels like a coup to terminate him in the works.
