Can't believe they compared Jack freakin Hughes to some random who can't lift the puck off the ice

Half the league would be on perma LTIR if they had to use wooden sticks

Crazy turn of events in Blues-Pens. With the Blues leading 3-2 in the 3rd, Binnington gets his glove knocked aside by Crosby (coming across IN FRONT of the crease), who then buries the rebound to tie the game.

Blues challenge for goalie interference and lose (rightly so, Crosby was outside the crease), Pens go the power play and score 12 seconds in on a one-timer by Rodrigues from Ovi's office. 4-3 Pens late in the 3rd. (And I have Binnington starting in fantasy tonight frown)

Then walks in Mr. Cooper

In all seriousness both be amazing coaches

But Cooper has a chance to make history and Tampa looks like theres a good chance of a 3peat

I know the Leafs won, but someone explain to me how it is humanely possible for an NHL contingent of players to leave Leon Draisaitl THAT wide open. HE'S LITERALLY STANDING IN FRONT OF THE NET ON HIS OWN!! (Seriously, pause the video at 0:06)

We learned from our mistake which was why we sent out the Cobra to get the lead back. Ironically if Campbell just kept his pad down he would have saved it lul.

Sloppy start but strong finish.

And all 5 things required for a good game were checked off

so GG

Yeah I like Cooper a lot but I think Sullivan is able to do more with less. Sullivan pushes all the right buttons and he knows how to put players in a position to succeed. There are times where the Pens look better without Crosby and Malkin, Sullivan just knows how to turn players into two way beasts

I know I'm completely biased, so I won't add my useless 2 cents, except to say that the top 3 coaches in the league IMO have to be (pick your order) Cooper, Brind'amour and Sullivan.

Starting to think my idea of Giroux to Tampa via 3-way trade may actually happen at the deadline

Not possible, Lightning don't have room for an 8 million+ cap hit. I know your point of it being a 3-way trade is that they wouldn't have to take on all of it, but they'd likely have to part with at least this year's 1st rounder to do that, and since they don't pick in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rounds, JBB probably wants to hold on to that one.

I did the math at the deadline and if 2 teams retain 50% like what happened with Savard it is possible to do so.

I think its an intriguing idea as just Imagine Giroux next to Point or Stamkos scream

Shouldnt be overly expensive as lets say Tampa wins cup 3

The 1st they give to Philly is the 32nd OA pick and then for lets say Seattle to retain probs a 4th and some depth guy like Sustr

I actually don't like Giroux, he's been an underachiever the past couple of years. Could be all he needs is a change of scenery, but I doubt it happens with the Lightning.

I feel with less pressure in Tampa he will be a monster.

As not having to be the carry of a team can be a big boost to some players

As in Tampa he will be behind Point, Kucherov, and Stamkos.

I hear that, but I feel like JBB is more likely to target a solid bottom 6 winger who can slot in on the Joseph-Colton-Raddysh line, somebody like Rickard Rakell.
The other 3 lines (Palat-Pointer-Kuch, Killorn-Cirelli-Stammer, and Maroon-Bellemare-Perry) are pretty much set.

Honestly I was thinking maybe a center for the third line. So they could move Colton back to the Wing where I feel he would be better. Kind of Like Nick Paul in Ottawa

Maybe Jarnkrok as that guy can play all 3 positions and do pretty well. Plus 2-way guy who can go anywhere in the lineup

So then your third line could become Joseph-Jarnkrok-Colton

If not Paul could also be intriguing (I know his stats are bad but Ottawa seems to be struggling and as this guy showed at the WC he can be a monster given the right opportunity)

As that guy can do a bit of everything and centering that third line could make it a pain in the ass for opposing teams

Brodie was wayyyy out of position on that. Went too far away to try and clear the puck, didn't work and suddenly the space he's supposed to cover is unoccupied.

Jarnkrok would be intriguing. as you mentioned he can play anywhere in the line, which is good for the bottom 6
