I agree Geekie top 10 would probably be a slight reach, but it’s for sure happening lol, GMs are dumb.

Also Slafkovsky did have a better second half in terms of Liiga production, but like, Liiga production as a 17yo isn’t really necessarily the most important thing. Youngsters in top pro leagues tend to get reduced minutes. His production in the junior levels was elite (like Barkov-esque all the way up iirc), so he does have that high end track record. His performance against his peers has always been high end. Even the Olympics was against some peers but mostly grown men, and he was a star.

I think Slafkovsky is going to be the top forward...maybe shared with Cooley coming out of this draft. I don't think Wright ends up as good as them.

Clang this season with Rogle of the SHL played 17 games, posting a 10-5-0 and a 0.914sv%. In the playoffs he had 3 games with a 0.912sv%.

I wasn't talking about production. That definitely improved though. I mainly meant his on-ice play. I think Nemec looked better overall (yes, difference league, etc. but I'm saying this after taking that into account). Cooley also looked more dominant among his peers than Slafkovsky. I understand the opinion, but to me Cooley and Nemec are clearly 2 and 3.

But in the end, I'm just a guy on the Internet, what do I know lol

Has the potential to be that. Nemec could become a top pairing D-man and Cooley has the ceiling of a 1C. If I have the choice, I take those two ahead of Slafkovsky.

If you're one center away from having a good team and have the assets, I'd say yes

I hate my life, I just scouted Alex Perevalov and Ty Nelson and right after I finish them, THW drops a prospect profile for both

Imagine if he went back next year 💀💀

Also that was pretty terrible defending by Del Mastro lol. Looking like Tyler Myers out there, big and out of position

Yeah that’s why I said imagine lol. He probably coulda stuck around just fine this year, I don’t recall him looking too out of place in his brief NHL stint. He’ll definitely be in the NHL next year, but if he did go back he would absolutely manhandle the O.

Idk I feel getting Nazar would also suffice

Yes he will be a few years away but he will be worth it

Nazar’s not guaranteed to be a Center though, he’s a RW/C and his ceiling also isn’t as safe as someone like Wright or Cooley, you could make the argument for Savoie though

I have to admit Owen Pickering has really grown on me, I still have the same concerns ( he hasn't adapted to his size yet, decision making, etc ) but he's pretty much in the range of another Kevin Korchinski imo

If he is available in the second round I could see a team with a bunch of seconds take a swing at him

But yeah his decision making is rough at times. But as Edvinsson showed players can change

Remember how bad he was last yeah with his passes.

If someone takes him in the 2nd, that team isn't "taking a swing at him". That whole first sentence sounds like he should go in the 3rd round which he shouldn't. No one has him ranked lower than 50 (I'm talking about the rankings displayed on eliteprospects)

Imo someone picks Pickering in the 1st now, before I would’ve agreed with you but I think a team in the maybe like 20 range would take a shot on him. He’s a project, but very talented and raw so any team as long as they develop him well will get a good player

For an 18 year old, Shane Wright's beard game isn't half-bad.

he is like the anti Jack Hughes. Wrights growing full beards before he is even drafted where as Hughes looked like he was 12 years old his entire rookie season
