Certainly an interesting take, would be curious if they would try and make up some of that draft capital by taking on contracts with all that extra cap room.

Hawks pass. Murphy and Hagel are both each alone worth more then just a late 1st and Bjork does nothing to really enhance the offer; suggesting the Hawks give up a 3rd as well is just favors the Sabres even more in this deal.

You've got to be kidding right? Two late round 1sts, bags of magic beans, for a bonafide top 4 defender in his prime on a decent contract and a 23 year old breakout top 6 player? Good luck using those late 1st round picks to get something better then Hagel and Murphy; history says you have less then a 30% chance of getting even a bonafide NHL player with each pick so probability says you are way better off taking that trade. Not that it matters as the Hawks wouldn't touch it.

Walker is certainly available, but I don't think that Olofsson rings the bell. I think we'd like Quinn, but he's probably more than you'd want to send, even if we gave you both of our own thirds for the next two draft years. What about Samuelsson?

Seeing as murphy was taken in the late first round and hagel was a 6th round pick I will take my chances lol, hagel is a half a point a game guy not really moving the needle for me. Also buffalo isnt in the position to go out and grab these guys? only teams who actually are contending would sniff these guys so you are likely to get your late round picks for them. As well buchnevich went for a second round pick, reinhart a late first and a prospect, you think hagel is even remotely close to either of these two players? you must be sniffing rocky wirtz underwear

Come on, in what world does Walker have such value? I wouldn't even trade Olofsson for him, Quinn is out of the question. He's a offensive D that we don't even need.

Chicago has already been offered a 1st+prospect for Hagel.

That’s fine, I’m just making the point that he is absolutely worth a 1st +.

ristolainen was traded for a 1st plus to philly, doesnt mean he was worth it. I like hagel, but he is nothing more than a depth piece on a good team

He’s 23 and on pace for 50 points. He’s on a bargain contract too. He’s absolutely worth a 1st round pick and more.

I want no part of any of these trades. We need to draft with at least 2 of those 3 first round picks. I would love to see them not trade any draft picks at all this year

Where players were drafted after proving themselves in the NHL is irrelevant. Is Debrincat still only worth a 2nd round pick? Draft position years later is irrelevant...come on! LOL
Hawks have already had "multiple offers" for hagel inclusive of 1st round pick and a prospect and hawks have declined; case and point.
Hawks don't touch these trades IMO, but every team in the league would want this trade competing or not because they could flip the players for a better return then this.

Not at all but your argument kinda works against you... one of those late round firsts you gave up for hagel could turn into debrincat. maybe not but if im buffalo why am i trading away probabilities at a star for brandon hagel who when the sabres exit the rebuild will probably be gone in ufa
