I find it quite amusing that Tom Wilson thinks he’s relevant

Great way to waste the prime of 2 generational talents

I mean what is he suppose to do trade away our future for the slight chance that we make it past the second round because there is no way team is making it past the second round unless McDavid and Drai both go to like a level above god mode or something

Need your thoughts on this blockbuster :
Savoie and 2023 2nd for Lehkonen
2022 1st for Dvorak
Yamamoto + Kassian + Smith + 2024 2nd for Allen (part of it is dumping Kassian)

It’s a package deal for all 3

Don’t think Carter Savoie + 2nd gets Lehky, it’s fair value but no reason for us to move him at fair value, the Allen trade looks good, not sure if I’d do that Dvorak move considering what we paid for him

Savoie is so good tho. Feel like it’s pretty fair return .

Never said it wasn’t fair, there’s just no reason for us to move him for that when he brings a lot to the team and arguably should get a 1st/good prospect to get us to part ways with him

Man, can whoever designs the Leafs jerseys chill out with the 'dark logo on dark jersey/light logo on light jersey' scheme? Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it's been the same thing for every specialty 'Leafs' jersey (as in not St. Pats or Arenas) since the Centennial Classic. Have a new idea ffs.

Don't know why I'm so bothered by this, but I am.

Smith has also been bad when paired with Severson, I disagree that siegenthalers breakout led to smith's slump, like I said its common for defenseman to have a sophomore slump.

Dobson and Quinn Hughes both had sophomore slumps. Dobson spends most of his 5v5 TOI with Chara and still puts up great results. Smith will be fine next season.

I agree about the sophomore slump but Siegenthaler took the top 4 minutes over Smith which is why I said that

I hope not

nhl writers are comical

Gallant - team metrics are awful outside of Hart quality goaltending: 34 points
Boudreau - brought a bottom 5 team to playoff contention: 3 points
Keefe - fastest leafs coach to 60 wins in history: 0 points

even Cassidy having no points is hilarious.

Bowness 0 points, exactly how it should be.

I agree with parts. Should never just use analytics when judging a player. Micro stats, eye test, and other aspects both on and off the ice are important to consider to.

Well Washington would have 3 good NHL goalies but apart from that, makes sense

Trade Samsonov afterwards I guess

As after that last playoff performance idk if Samsonov is the guy. Vanecek has been better this year to

So flames arent done and want Domi. Only realistic way I believe they could do it is if Monahan goes back or something. As rn I dont think they got the space to do it.

according to CF, CGY has 627K deadline space, and (according to the trade machine) Domi's effective cap hit half retained is 530K (1.06M without retention) so maybe they could add him like that
plus send one guy down, say ritchie (180K deadline cap hit) or richardson (160K deadline cap hit), that frees up a bit of space
question is though what do they trade, and what does CBJ want? they have 8 picks in the next two drafts, with only one first and two seconds
