This will work at the advantage of the States. If the Russians can’t play Junior hockey in Canada then I’d assume that USA becomes their number one option. Either with College/Uni or USNDP.

They’re not US citizens so USNTDP won’t happen

Can’t you apply for a citizenship? Or would it take too long that you’re probably playing professional by then?

You don’t become a citizen just by moving there, it take time before you officially become a citizen

The NHLPA poll had a category of which goalie would you take if you needed to win 1 game, Vasy came in 1st, Carey Price came in 2nd

Keep in mind that Shesterkin has never played a playoff game (unless you count the one game he played in the play-in round in the bubble), so Price probably got the benefit of experience bias

I mean, Price would definitely be up there. Like in a 1 game situation, there isn’t exactly many other clutch goalies

I’m surprised he didn’t come in 1st lol. The players are even more out of date than GMs, established stars hang around in these polls for YEARS past their prime. Like go back 5-7 years and decide who deserves to win each of these awards, and that’s who wins them this year lol

Ah, K, I thought your bolding the words "Carey Price" meant you were surprised he was picked

Hockey isn’t a sport that should be read solely from numbers. I use and enjoy analytics don’t get me wrong.
Nor does everything need to be factual.

But hockey is a much more complex sport than basketball in my eyes. More errors, faster pace, much more facets, goalies, it goes on and on. Basketball is a great sport btw (just a random tangent).
Id say hockeys eye test comes from experience and also subjective analysis. Like I think Craig buttons analysis on Gourde playing for team Canada is pure idiocy. He has a large resume and an experienced background with a wealth of knowledge. But his analysis to say Gourde should be on Team Canada is stupid; despite him having pedigree (In my eyes).

When I watch the Avs I don’t go; ah Rantanen is clearly floating on this lining. I watch that top line go out for the Avs and go; man Rantanen is a ****ing monster. I don’t go; eh Mackinnon is pretty good Rantanen should be happy to play with this guy.

Like if I go; Marner plays with Bunting therefore he is better than Rantanen because Rantanen plays with Landeskog. That’s a flawed argument imo and very one sided. It’s just very “blinders on, looking straight ahead”.

It would be like saying Merkley is better than XYZ player because he plays with Vlasic who should negate a chunk of criticism for Merkley. Which is flawed. Vlasic can be bad and Merkley can also be poor - even if Merkley has a high ceiling and some flashes of brilliance.

Am I crazy to say that Matthews isn't even that skilled? I'm not hating, he just has a franchise level shot and maybe the best offensive positioning we have ever seen in hockey

Yea, citizenship takes a long time. Maybe 8 years? Haven't looked into it, haven't had to lol being a citizen. But that seems like a few 2 many years to wait lol.

Few guys can protect the puck like him.
He doesn't need all of the skill and flashiness that other guys have, he's gonna attack the net anyhow and there isn't really anything you can do to stop him.

It's amusing when people say "helping Vegas" then proceeds to trade future considerations for Evgenii Dadonov + 1st round pick + Brisson. Or even last year with Tampa: Tyler Johnson + Cernak + 1st + Alnefelt = helping Tampa. You're not helping them, you're taking advantage of them

In his rookie year I always thought how LUCKY he was to always be in the right place at the right time, but I learned in his 2nd and 3rd season that it's not luck, he just knows where to be at all times, it's crazy

I think Colorado is most people's 2nd favorite team. Everyone I know wants them to win, especially after their team gets eliminated.

I don't mean this in a mean way (I hope you understand) but no one really cares lol. As someone who is not an oilers fan, I don't really care one way or the other about Mike Smith.

But you are still free to post about him if you want. I'm just making an observation.
