So:

Lightning-Panthers

Rangers/Penguins-Hurricanes

Blues-Avalanche

Oilers-Flames/Stars

Honestly, whichever of NYR/PIT & DAL/CGY wins tomorrow, that's an electric Round 2.

I had leafs fans tell me that Ceci was gonna disappear in the playoffs and then he goes and scores the series winning goal

Dubas draft pick

I didnt even think Durzi would make the NHL if I am being honest

Up until this year he looked meh. I thought he would be a permanent AHLer

But after that performance man I prefer Muzzin as at least he never gave up on a play like that.

Daily reminder that FLA still hasn't scored a PP goal in these playoffs.

Verhaeghe scored 12 points in 6 games, all on even strength.

I feel the NHL should look at re-aligning divisions

One division should not be a slug fest where all teams are strong and then another where you got one OP team and the other 7 are bottom feeders.

And as soon as you change the divisions, the same thing happens in a couple years.

Something I would like to see is NHL to return to the old seeding system but with East and West hypothetically playing against each other from the get go. Like East No. 1 facing West No. 8 and so on.

Hard pass. West should still have to go through the West, and the East though the East. They're never going to completely throw out all possible rivalry series like this anyway.

@justaboss came up with a plan for that

Division lottery. Every year having different divisions.

That way its always random

And honestly I dont see why fanbases wouldnt like that

Yes eventually the number of combo's runs out but by then there should be some new NHL teams

Of course not. It'd be stupid business move.

But I want a change on the current system though. I preferred the latter one.

I mean when your gifted with the Kings in round 1 any of the other playoff teams would have got their brooms out. Even Nashville

Took Edmonton a bit longer but they did it.

True.

Out of teams eliminated in the first round Leafs has been by far the best one.

A completely horrible idea (no offense, JustABoss) that will NEVER happen because of travel expense. Again, why would anyone ever want to completely and utterly trash all rivalries like that? I don;t get it.

leafs were gifted an ice cold vasy and had 2 chances to close it out and choked. not sure they would have done any better vs the kings or nashville.

Anyone still have a perfect bracket? A lot of chalk thus far.

My bracket’s nearly perfect, I had Cats in 6, Tampa in 7, Canes in 6 ( happened in 7 ), Pens in 7 ( still possible ), Avs in 4, STL in 7 ( happened in 6 ), Oilers in 6 ( happened in 7 ) and Flames in 5 ( Flames can still win ) so I’m 6/6 series wise and 3/6 games wise, pretty good

Seriously though, everybody's going to talk about how the Leafs choked "again". This 21-22 Leafs team did not choke like the Leafs teams of the past decade. They gave everything they had, played well, got terrific production out of their stars, had solid secondary scoring, and the like. The Lightning were just better. They're the two-time defending Stanley Cup champs for a reason. But even though another year yielded the same result, this Leafs team should not look at themselves like the Leafs teams of prior years. They were much, much better. They play like this in future playoffs, it's going to yield fruit.

Exactly my thoughts, Toronto played good against a top team
