I have a feeling that thats an easy trade for the Leafs to make even without the 3rd coming back their way.

Wouldn't take Gauthier at 6 because one of Nemec, Jiříček and Cooley (+Savoie) will still be there.

Why wouldn’t they? Solid guy to pair with either whoever in the top 4 under a decent contract for a late 1st?

Possibly due to concussion concerns. Imagine they'd want to see him playing again to make sure he's not just medically good to play but also hasn't lost anything.

Flyers D pool is weak, wondering if we could swap York for Tyson… probably a better move for the hawks but one less hole to fill for Philly

Murphy isnt worth a first, Buffalo could easily beat that Rangers trade, Krapo Kakko is a bust

It's a very minor (very, very minor) point, but just FYI, the Florida pick is #28. Edmonton has #29.

If I'm not mistaken, teams aren't allowed to make re-sign conditions on picks anymore.

If Kane is waiving his NMC it's probably to play with Panarin and he would still be close to Buffalo (if that's something he was interested in). Plus, the Rangers are serious contenders while Buffalo aren't, he would likely just stay put until they don't sign him the next year if Buffalo was his only option, unless Buffalo was in the playoffs and Chicago wasn't+no extension talks and the trade was a TDL deal.

Kane wants to retire a Hawk but like you suggested doing, I think they are trying to push him out by shopping/trading DeBrincat.

I've looked at a blockbuster CHI-NYR swap involving Kane, Toews and the Cat for a boatload of Rangers. No matter what combination I tried, the cash burden in the out years doesn't work because of of a number of awful contracts (a Ranger front office gift that has been on display for years, 65 in my case). Top of the "List" are the Breadman and Trouba. I've looked at at Anders Lee / Breadman option, and I'm still looking. At that's before all the NMCs involved. At this time I see a dismal scenario over the coming years for the Blueshirts.

TOR move is bad for CHI but the rest remain acceptable
