MTL
  1. Foote, Nolan
  2. Holtz, Alexander
  3. 2022 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
NJD really want Slav and don't want to risk MTL drafting him 1st. So they pay a price to move up to 1st and they also trade for Anderson.

NJD 1st + Foote = MTL 1st
Holtz = Anderson + best of 2023 1st (see other side for conditions)

MTL still is able to get Shane Wright
NJD
  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. 2022 1st round pick (MTL)
  3. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
2023 1st is top 5 protected - If pick is outside top 5, NJD gets to pick the better of the MTL or FLA picks (most likely MTL 1st)
2.
TBL
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni ($2,500,000 retained)
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)

  3. 2024 2nd round pick (COL)
4.
MTL
  1. Zucker, Jason
  2. 2022 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Drop back 12 spots in the draft to get the full contract of Zucker off the books for PIT. MTL buys out Zucker (I believe MTL is on his NTC but he waives to get bought out)
PIT
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (MTL)
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (CAR)

Big no on Hoffman. $9 mil isn't the kind of money Columbus is willing to bury for that little of a return.

Thats like giving a team wanting Savoie 1OA so they can draft him risk free. Moving even 1 spot can change an entire draft plan.

Columbus declines, no want or need for Hoffman, send him to Arizona if they’re willing to take him for that price.

It's not a terrible trade as some people above are making it out to be. 5M in cap will go a LONG way to helping them keep Malkin and Letang

Panic because they lost out on Fiala and gambling on getting a 2023 1st between 6-12. Also imagine having Anderson and Slav on the wings for the NJD centers. Talk about power

They don't but delusional Montreal fans think 5.5m X 5 Anderson great value instead of an overpaid 35 point player. Never mind the other silliness in the trade.

Dude there is nothing attractive about Josh Anderson. I’m sorry. He’s big earns 5.5M a year and scores 30 points a season

Yeah I think it all comes down to who is available at 21, for two reasons:

*Every GM has a few guys circled who realistically should be available that they hope to draft. If one of the guys they want most are there, they should take them.
*This year more than usual there are a few extremely high skill guys who have the potential to fall due to unusual circumstance. The #1 who I want them to draft is Ivan Miroshnichenko, but other high skill players with the potential to fall include lambert, mateychuk, nazar, and yurov. If any of those 5 are available (nazar being the one I would want least) I think they should not trade the pick and draft the player.

So I guess what I am saying is that if the top 20 picks go worst case scenario they should trade the pick, but I think it is more likely than not that there is a player available who is worthy of not trading the pick

Slafkovsky will be a top-6 player. Josh Anderson more of a 3rd liner. And the jump from 2oa to 1oa is not worth one of Foote/Holtz.

Pens pass. Thanks to JR, we've had like 2 first round picks in a decade. Not giving one away to lose 1 year of Zucker, especially when we can trade one of our three 4+ million dollar LD for nearly the same savings.

Holtz is quite overrated with his skating issues. Foote aint much of a prospect. You're essentially moving down from 1OA to 2OA and giving away an unprotected shot at Bedard and Anderson for free.

Its an awful deal for Mtl.

Oh I know, but the Jersey fans think Holtz is the next coming of Jagr and Foote the next coming of Crosby by how they react to decent trades.

Ridiculous. Just cause he’s a top round pick doesn’t mean he’s still worth that. He’s clearly not developed his skating and it’s a big issue. And, these are the same fans that call Kakko a bust. This is why I stopped even posting trades to Jersey. Can’t wait for the draft to be here already so this team can go back to being irrelevant

Yet, every GM seems to love the player. It’s almost like he might be worth something.

No kidding. When LeBrun is on TV saying Anderson is "coveted around the league" I tend to value his opinion and agree with him more then people doing fantasy ACGMs

It’s tribalism and group speak, nothing more. A bunch of monkey get together and nod that their hair looks the same and band together. The ppl that actually know like Seravalli and Lebrun have reported his value multiple times in articles.

Yup it's mind boggling that the Lebrun can report that Anderson is worth a 1st, and in the same article or TV segment report that for example Muzzin on TOR is worth a 1st+ and they argue that Anderson isn't but Muzzin is. I only used Muzzin as an example but it's like when it comes to a team the don't like, they cannot handle good news about the team or players and have to be pessimistic about everything. I cannot wait to come back WHEN if Anderson gets traded for a 1st + and rub their little goblin noses into the carpet.
