I have 1 guy whose name rhymes with Dyson Harrie that you can have for free, we will even throw in a 3rd round pick

personal thought:

bear - 2nd or 3rd round pick
dumba - probably a first and a low pick, but maybe having something like JBD/Thomson + mid pick would work if dumba has an extension
severson - same as dumba
mayfield - i'd think just a first
parayko - not entirely sure, but maybe a prospect and a second

Severson it depends on when and how the Devils are doing. If it's before the start of the season or if the Devils are doing well, it has to be a roster player that objectively improves the Devils. If it's the deadline and the Devils imploded again? Shouldn't take much more than a 1st.

I'd like a 3rd for Bear, but he could end up being part of a trade package now.

I don't think the Blues are moving Parayko for pretty much anything that Ottawa fans would be happy with. Not saying I necessarily agree with it but they consider him a top pairing defenseman and they consider their window currently open and thus it would take a comparable player coming back, on defense where the Blues are weak, and I can't see Ottawa parting with the one guy they have that might fit that bill considering he's significantly better than Parayko, and younger, etc etc

Isles are not trading Mayfield unless your sending a better defender back. Win now teams don’t trade vet starters at a position of need.

That doesn't lower his value! Either he's a self rental for the year and the Devils defense is absolutely stacked, or he'll be traded in a deal that unequivocally improves the team.

Probably a mid pick for Bear.

Can I interest you in a Jake Gardiner with a newly repaired back?!

Tough to know what we can get from OTT for Mayfield. He'd have to be immediately replaced.

I really don’t think he gets that. Would be shocking after what Marino went for etc. if there’s a decent extension sure but as a rental, maybe a 1st or a 2nd and good prospect

If the blues want to compete they would not be trading Parayko unless someone blows them away with an offer. No one is going to give what the blues would ask for Parayko because he hasn't been that great the past 2 years. Therefore it is unlikely he is to be traded.

Severson will be ahead of Marino as long as he's on the team

Idk man, I genuinely think his return will look similar to Hampus Lindholm

For Severson, I’d say….

A pick between 20-40, an older but useful prospect (maybe one looking at RFA), and a later pick. If Ottawa is competitive at deadline, maybe 1st, 3rd, JBD.

If it’s pre-season, probably costs two good young players on ELC (at least one of which has term on ELC). Guys I think may fit Fitzy wishlist are JBD, Boucher, Ostapchuk.

At deadline, for $2.083m AAV, minus John Moore and one of the 2nds…he definitely could.

Severson probably starts season as 1RD, Hamilton as 2RD and Marino as 3RD…at least in terms of ice time. By the end of season last year, even when Hamilton was healthy, Severson and Dougie were splitting PP time. Severson was also on 1st PK unit. And he has been our top even-strength dman for years.

And Nemec/Walsh knocking at the door

Nemec will get his 9 games (will likely take the Holtz approach and preserve his ELC slide). Walsh may start as 3LD with his former college partner, Marino.
