Any team crazy enough to claim Dobby off waivers? I'm just glad that we didn't give up assets to cap dump him and waived him instead.

No way. Any team with that cap space would rather leverage it for assets, not use it on a 36 year old goalie playing at a sub-NHL level

Yeah you’ve really gotta be careful, and stay within your limits. However much money you put in, you have to expect to never see that again. I kept almost all of my bets last year to 50 cents, sometimes even 20 cents (the minimum bet allowable, and these were the ones like you mentioned LFFSR that are like, a crazy thing or stupid multi-leg parlay but ridiculously unlikely to happen lol). I did up my stake to $1 this year, partially for simplicity and partially because I did well last year, but mostly because I’m still able to shrug off losses very easily at that stake size. The best advice for getting into betting that I can give as an amateur is to never expect to see your deposit again and keep your stake size both constant and low (like I started with 50 cents, which was 2% of my $25 deposit last year). The other thing to remember is you don’t have to bet on everything, you should only bet on things you think will happen, and sometimes that means completely ignoring a slate of like 12 games because there are no good odds, and that’s just the way it goes. And if you find yourself getting upset or overly stressed about it, it’s best to walk away. If you keep that in mind, and keep yourself in check, it can be very fun though. And like yikes mentioned, I started paying attention to some NBA and NFL stuff that I hadn’t previously. I suck at betting on the MLB lol, I’d need to actually make some algorithms to bet on that I think, because baseball is so statistics based and basically solved from what I hear. Hockey is a good sport to bet on if you’re purely going on gut instinct and hot streaks though imo

I would add to the comment of interest in betting - not only don’t expect to see that 50$ deposit back (let’s say that’s you initial deposit), but limit yourself to such a deposit for a year.
So example;

I deposit 50$ October let’s say. alright if I’m out of money I upcoming January I’m done. So if I wanna bet on the NHL playoffs, well then you gotta set aside let’s say 25$ bucks of that and call it as my new limit. That way not only you’re limiting your deposit to annual, semi annual etc, but you’re than gauging “do I want to bet on This big name UFC fight in May? Super Bowl in January?”, alright so I can’t blow 25$ by December otherwise I’m screwed.

So you’re small betting, betting what feels right or your smart betting free money (IE HERTL FIRST PERIOD IN PRAGUE, Tampa game 7 etc). And you’re planning out when you’re gonna need bets for events ie Super Bowl, NHL playoffs, etc.

Question, does lijlegren need to be on the regular roster then moved to LTIR on the first day of the season? Cause the team isn’t compliant with him on the regular roster with 18 skaters. If that’s the case in two days Dubas has to move either Kerfoot, Holl or Engvall to free up at least 1 mil and change. But if lijlegren can be on LTIR prior to the start of the season then the team is compliant

Stillman was literally their 3rd best D, and now their 3rd-5th D are Caleb Jones, Alex Vlasic (rookie), and Jack Johnson lol. I’d bet they’re planning to claim Samorukov on waivers. Or maybe waiting for Valimaki out of Calgary. Or both. On the bright side for Vancouver, Stillman is a decent 3rd pair D. Unfortunately they don’t need that, and he’s also a left shot. At least they get Dickinson off the books, but a 2nd is a little pricy.

Add trading for Dickinson in the long list of why Benning was bad GM as in the end they paid more to get rid of him then they did to acquire him

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they're ok. There is a lot of team over the limit rn and wouldn't be once their players go on LTIR. But isn't Lijegren suppose to come back this year? I wouldn't be surprised if he still tries to trade Kerfoot or Holl because day by day he's losing leverage and not being able to activate Lijegren off Ltir would be bad.

I really liked him in Dallas and was sad to see him go. Would have rather left Faksa unprotected rather than trade Dickinson, but that contract he got in VAN was bad.

Is Xhekaj the new Ryan Reaves or Byfuglien? DJ Smith is throwing a temper tantrum about a 21 YO rookie that is beating up his "Enforcers". Literally dressing 3 of them because of Xhekaj.

Not even really, unlike Reaves, Xhekaj can do more than just fight and hit, he's also a good skater who can pass, shoot and defend well, transitional game for Xhekaj is a work in progress though

I just mean in terms of Psychological Warfare in the NHL. Coaches are intimidated by him.

I thought Pittsburgh won the trade because they got Smith. Guess I'm the only one who actually saw what he was?

Can we all agree though that all the ACGMs of the leafs trying to trade for him are stupid though?
