The only thing the Habs might want there is the 1st. Knies is much worse than our other forward prospects and Muzzin & Kerfoot are meh...

Edmundson and Dvorak for Muzzin and Kerfoot the distance between them isn't Knies and a 2023 1st. That's if you can get Muzzin to waive.

Knies is much worse than your forward prospects?!?! Like who? Slafkovsky sure, everyone else absolutely not. Leafs don’t touch this package with a 39 and a half foot pole.

Easy no from the Leafs, we're not trading a prospect that is expected to jump to the NHL once his season ends

You literally have a lanky Engvall as your top prospect lol. Either way, Leafs don't even consider

Interesting idea, i think knies is untouchable for the leafs even if they're desperate to win now so let's modify a bit
1st round pick 2023, 4th round pick 2025, William Villeneuve, topi niemela kerfoot and muzzin for Dvorak and edmundson

What on earth do you think Dvorak and Edmundson's value are?

I'd take Muzzin over Edmundson as a player, but the latter's contract

Kerfoot and Dvorak are pretty dang close. Whether you loves the prospect or not the value is ridiculous

Way too much. Why is Toronto doing this? On the ice the trade is essentially a wash. Muzzin is better and Dvorak is better. So the only difference is the cap. That is way too much for the leafs to pay for that cap swing

I am not claiming all the Leafs are awesome players. But this is a trade of middle of the line up players for middle of the line up players...

Edmundson won a thing or two in his life while playing 20 plus min a night .... leafs most change up some things and clear cap space or they'll finish the season once again a few days after playoffs begin

Neither side likely do this, it's too big of a deal and too high of a price for the Leafs to move Muzzin's contract and Eddy has little value right now due to his back. The Habs on the other had are already full of LD so moving Eddy for a LD makes no sense.

As for you comment that the only Habs prospects better than Knies are Slafkovsky and maybe Roy, perhaps you should look at our prospect pool again, Slaf (obviously), Farrell is better than Roy so he is better than Knies, I have Beck, Mesar and Kidney ahead of Roy as well and Ylonen and RHP as being as good as Roy so we have a bunch of forward prospects who according to your standards (because you used Roy as the cutoff) who are as good or better than Knies. Now that being said I have Knies as being ahead of Roy and more on the level of Kidney or Beck but I could be wrong cause I don't pay mutch attention to Leafs prospects lol.

Lol, the only thing Edmundson has won was a ride to the cup as the 4th highest played defender, 4 cups ago. He's older and worse now

Depending on what Prices status is, you could be right and maybe Montreal wouldn’t do it. But I think the value favours Montreal based on Knies.

Ok scratch the “maybe Roy” part then. I was under the impression he was like one of your best prospects lol. I admit I don’t know Montreals prospects all that well, but I imagine he’s better than Kidney and Beck (no disrespect to them, but Knies is really, really good).

Beck was supposed to be returned to the OHL once training camp ended but instead earned a contract and is now in Laval. IMO he will likely replace Dvorak next year on the Habs roster or possibly push Dach to the wing and center the 2nd line. Roy is one of our best prospects but we just have so many, it's why our prospect pool ranked 7th in the NHL this year. For me our forward prospects rank Slafkovsky, Farrell, Mesar, Beck, Kidney, Roy, Ylonen, RHP skill wise. It's a great prospect pool and if 3 hit on their potential that would be amazing, but we all know that prospects are just darts at the wall until they make it lol.

So for the first part of your statement: I think you're trying to argue Edmundson is better than muzzin. But muzzin has also won (2) cup(s) playing over 20 minutes a night. Muzzin is the better player (worse contract though).

The second part I just simply disagree with. There is no reason to make a trade for the sake of making a trade. Make one that makes the team better. But not just to change things. Especially not at the cost of a first plus more

So at worst Kerf = Dvorak and Muzzin = Edmunson on a pure play, not contract/age/injury basis

Factoring in the term and age gap that favours the habs players in this deal is worth nothing close to Knies OR a first. Actually I'll go back and even say Dvorak signed longer is a disadvantage because it's less money available when Matthews and Nylander need new deals
