Jesse Puljujarvi is the Perfect Trade for the Jets and only Trade Jets need

Description
Since the noise around Jesse Puljujarvi has gone crazy recently following his comments on Tuesday evening (Dec. 6) I wanted to immediately revisit the possibility of the Jets and Jesse Puljujarvi, before Puljujarvi probably wants to go home. Jets have just under or around $4.0M available, either way they can take Puljujarvi's $3.0M as early as tomorrow and have room to qualify him later, if need be.
A couple days ago I made a different *Projection* by trading Stanley for Jesse Puljujarvi, and keeping Capobianco over Stanley. (Felt bad seeing Stanley's grandma talk about the Coach thinking of sending Stanley down.) This projection is keeping Stanley over Capobianco(Can't have 2 valuable players picked up over Capo. Miss you Kovacevic.) I like Stanley and hope he can prove to be worth it. It's hard having a stacked lineup, a good player will be left out and that's the hard reality. Especially with having to worry about Chisholm next year, since he will have to clear waivers and Jets could lose someone valuable for nothing if there aren't trades. Also Gawanke if he's still around.

This is *Projected* at giving Heinola a good long look to build his game within the Jets system. Sending Samberg to the AHL for the time being since he still has 39 games Waiver Exempt. Samberg and Heinola would swap spots, and save a depth player from Waivers. If getting Puljujarvi, I would also suggest sending Morgan Barron to the AHL, since he still has 17 games with Waivers Exempt and could save a depth player from Waivers. Use that Waivers advantage while it's there. Morgan Barron could also get valuable 1st line minutes to build his offensive skills and abilities with a strong Moose team against decent competition. And still get playing time with the big boys later in the season.(Playoffs too most probably)
I took out the UFA's and they are on the Taxi squad, but could still be in the lineup due to injuries. Signed Dmitri Rashevsky to $925,000 x 2 and added him to the Taxi Squad because he could be an interesting trade piece for Teams to pursue. In the KHL, Rashevsky has 26 points in 39, he also had 35 points in 48 last year. For the past 2 years in the KHL, Rashevsky has had 34 Goals in 87 games and is only 22 Years old. I also Added Chisholm and Gawanke to Taxi Squad because they could be valuable trade pieces for teams to also pursue.
Upgraded Stenlund over Gagner to the 4th RW and took more importance with an RFA for another year and younger at 26 with decent size. Stenlund is obviously an NHL player, with 14 points in 17 AHL games with the size of 6'4 210 lbs. Also has 20 points in 71 NHL games. He's a strong right handed RW the Jets need and could also use at the 4th C.

4 Penalties vs Panthers there was 178:33(178.55) for Forwards. And 114:54(114.9) for the D. = 293:27 Team Total time.
3 Penalties vs Ducks there was 177:19(177.317) for Forwards. And 116:41(116.683) for the D. = 294:00 Team Total time.
2 Penalties vs CHI there was 179:54(179.9) for Forwards. And 116:27(116.45) for the D. = 296:21 Team Total time.
Based on near time averages I use 178 min for Forwards, and 116 min for D. Which is 294:00 Total time. (11-7?)

Obviously I'm not stupid(quite the total opposite.) and know that Puljujarvi is probably only a 3rd liner. I put Puljujarvi on the 1st line to give him a better opportunity to rejuvenate his skills and confidence. Giving Puljujarvi a 2nd chance, as anybody would feel good to have.
And that at least 90% of the time this would probably be the most reliable and consistent lineup;
Connor-Dubois-Ehlers
(19 min)(18 min)(17 min)
Perfetti-Scheifele-Wheeler
(16 min)(19 min)(16 min)
Barron-Lowry-Puljujarvi
(14 min)(15 min)(13 min)
Harkins-Stenlund-Appleton
(9 min)(9 min)(13 min)
Gustafsson

Stenlund would take out Gustafsson in the 4th C, because he is more experienced and is a big body at 6'4, 210 lbs that could help the Jets more in a shutdown role, win more of those dirty puck battles using his size(Similiar to how it looks with Dubois. Obviously Dubois is better.) Especially in Playoffs. Stenlund puts up decent numbers for a big guy and is still only 26, and could grow a good offensive game that could be very beneficial to the Jets. And help make the Jets bottom 6 more Elite.
(Another thing, it's nice to see Stenlund join the Jets. I made lots of trades for him and trying to have him as a part of our future.)

These are the 2 other lineups I would suggest. Mainly to help give Puljujarvi a chance to rejuvenate his career and confidence. Especially with such a very effective 200 ft all around duo like Connor and Dubois.
Connor-Dubois-Puljujarvi Connor-Dubois-Puljujarvi

Then, sign Dubois @ $8,875,000 x 2 Years
*Or $9,150,000 x 3 Years* (Which would Equal $550,000 more for the first 2 years and still be able to ask for a very high 7 Year Contract. As Dubois will only be 28 years old and 34/35 when the 7th Year Contract is up.)
Trading Dillon, DeMelo or Schmidt could also open up money to pay Dubois 5-8 year Contracts. Because currently we probably could only afford to give Dubois 2-3 year contracts at most.

On paper it probably seems like a good fit, but I wonder if Puljujarvi would face some of the same problems that Laine did in Winnipeg. Since his confidence is demolished, it's probably best that he plays in a low-pressure environment for a non-playoff team. If the Jets do acquire him and try to play him in the top 6, I think the second line would be better since it's a bit less pressure, although keeping him away from #55 is probably important too.

I don't imagine it would cost you a 2nd. A cheap roster player and a 3rd or 4th would do it for me.

I doubt the Oilers bite on that, just not the type of trade I see them doing.

If JP is traded it's for another warm body, possibly at TDL on a smaller deal for another expiring contract or as a sweetener/cap balancer on a bigger deal.

I don't see them wanting to move roster players for picks for the next four years (perceived cup window). Nothing against the 2nd rounder as that's close to where his current value is (low).

The value favors Edmonton but I wonder if Scheifele and Wheeler will bully Pulju out of the team

Apparently Holland offered JP around the league in the summer for a 2nd and had no takers. So, I can't see anyone offering a 2nd for him now.

Wow! Very detailed and in depth. You did all this to justify trading for a bottom 6 forward.

It's sad but I agree. I see this as another Evgeny Svechnikov work-make project/risk.

I honestly think edmonton holds onto JP as a favor to him and don't qualify him letting him become a free agent. The only thing wrong with him is his contract and qualifying offer. The issue with JP is he wants to be a superstar or nothing. He isn't happy with being a solid 3rd liner and scoring 30 points a year.

It's hard to accept that nobody wants to pay for Puljujarvi what we paid for Lias "The Useless" Andersson.

I wouldn't mind JP on the team, though I think the Jets should trade a defender away. Heinola or Stanley makes the most sense.

Where did you hear about Stanley's grandma talk about the Coach sending him down? In my opinon, I wouldn't mind seeing Stanley sent down. We are currently succeeding without him. It will be interesting to see how he plays against the Blues today.

Yeah, they we're talking about JP with an Edmonton reporter this morning on NHL Network Radio and he mentioned the thing about Holland not being able to get a 2nd for him in the summer.

They also said that in an interview with a Finnish reporter that JP said he is really disappointed in his production this year and wants to play somewhere where he can contribute offensively again and that he's not sure that it is in the NHL that he'll be able to do that. Take with a grain of salt of salt though with translation issues.

Rumor is they wanted a 2nd in the offseason and had no takers. Considering his performance and paycheck a 2nd is overpay now.

Oilers likely also want a nhl level warm body as their forward depth is already thin

Makes sense to pursue JP from Edmonton. Oilers need cap relief once they are all healthy. Jets need a Top 9 Forward that's a right handed shot. If he doesn't produce, don't qualify him and let him walk as a UFA. New scene, And with Schieflie or Dubois as true playmaking centers (Draisital and McDav are scoring centers), he might be able to live up to his perceived potential.

To add more of an interesting take on "this situation"... What if the Jets Finish First in the Division and they manage to face the Oilers(Wildcard Finish) in the First Round of The Playoffs?!...

Imagine how determined Jesse Puljujarvi would be to beat the Oilers(Even though we could already beat the Oilers without JP.) I WOULD LOVE to see that happen. JP would be a man on a mission to prove himself.
