If you’re first isn’t moving the other way in the Laf deal why do we even listen? Not saying it’d be a good deal, but there’s no incentive for the Rangers to make this deal.

Ben Chiarot got a 1st at last year's deadline, Schenn is better, given his ability and his cap hit he is worth a 1st.

MAF is so much better than what the Avs have rn. No chance they win another cup with Francousz or Georgie in net

Garland had 49 Even Strength points last season, he just isn't playing with good players in VAN. Getting a player capable of putting up 70 points at a $3M AAV is the kind of player you win with. NYR also won't be able to sign both Laf & Chytl to long term deals in the offseason and givent he way they've played, NYR is keeping Chytl.

So buy trading for a player that will cost more somehow makes cap situation better? No...
Second point, the kid line is the best line NYR have right now. They are not breaking that line up.
Options is to trade / buyout Goodrow if they have too.

Last point, I think LAF has a total of 3 pp points out of all his career points. So not sure why NYR needs to trade for Garland...

Why the hell would Minnesota pay you a 1st and our goalie of the future to get rid of Fleury for a more expensive goalie? We don't need Demko and are not giving up the 1st or Wallstedt. Just a completely asinine trade.

Despite my hope, Canucks tire fire season hasn’t brought their fans down to planet earth. Just replaced preseason nonsense “we are a great team and can do great things this year” with tdl nonsense “ we have great players so you need to overpay for them” neutral.
Not one of these trades qualifies as being close to reality…’Nucks fans strike again.
Can’t wait for next spring to start up the dance again “ we missed playoffs last year but Aatu Raty & Anthony Beauvillier make us an immediate cup contender “

You realize the MAF is getting replaced at the starter again bc of his poor play and he has Been benched 4 post seasons jn a row watching his team be eliminated.
Check the stat lines. Georgiev is a .920 sv% and MAF is a .905 and no Georgiev isn’t benefiting from a better defense in front of him, they have been injured for half the season and hav 3 ahl dmen playing regularly in front of him

MAF is not the goalie you claim him be, no one has or will win anything again,

So VAN wins every trade, then turns around and trades guys for even more? Every team declines rather forcefully.

Poor play?

That is not even remotely true.

Fleury has a .920 sv% himself since November. His stats are poor and dragged down by the first 3 games of the season where he let in 20 goals in 3 games played, and goals that are directly attributable to defensive breakdowns in the rest. He's had maybe 4 games in which he was bad outside of those first 3. That in no way means he's played poorly. In last night's game against Arizona, for example, he had a .958 sv% performance despite the loss.

He's played extremely well this season. And is still the primary starter. Where the hell did you hear he had lost it?

Yes, Gustavsson has been better this season, no doubt, with a league leading .948 sv% since November. But Fleury still started the last 3 games in a row. Neither is truly the starter on the team. It's a fully true goalie tandem right now.

Have you watched him play at all this season?

Of course those numbers/stats are going to be poor. Because they're derived from the ENTIRE season. Which is going to take those numbers and drag them through the mud. There are too many aberrations to trust them over anything else.

Watching the games live disagrees with the analytics on this one. Defenseman that are frequently out of position that lead to bad goals or poor rebound collection that inevitably end up on the opposing team's sticks, and fluke goals, have been his downfall this year. It has nothing to do with his level of play.

Just looking at QS is far more indicative of how well he's played. He's not leading the pack or anything and is still 4th best of the 4, but he's right there with them.

https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_comparegoalie.php?players%5B%5D=1236&players%5B%5D=4979&players%5B%5D=4643&players%5B%5D=4961&period=2022-2023%3AR%3A99

That's the comparison of all 4 goaltenders. The QS progression graph is on the bottom of the page. That data is directly taken from Naturalstattrick.
