Armstrong is a moron for not trading Tarasenko during/after last year

NTCs are a b*tch, and they thought they'd be good this year.

They left him exposed to leave for free the summer before. This is a W. I didn't expect him to get a first in return.

I'm fine with the trade but yeah, probably my favorite Blues player of all time. Certainly the most exciting one I've ever been able to watch play. End of an era.

From unprotected in the expansion draft to this return? Be happy. This is a good trade for St. Louis.

The 4th becomes a 3rd if NYR makes the playoffs
So this is basically what I’ve been thinking he’ll get for a while
Plus skinner for mikkola is fair

Doubt it.

It’s incredible how people just ignore all trade precedent.

Pick will most likely be a 3rd instead of a 4th. Condition of rangers making playoffs.

They definitely should have traded Barbashev, but like...idk, if you think you're going to be good you're unlikely to trade off your roster for futures, and retain salary.

Could Armstrong have maximized value by trading Tarasenko last year? Maybe, if there was a team that wanted him and had the caps space and it was a team he wanted to go to. Pretty much all UFAs are going to fetch more if they have a year left on their contract rather than 3 months. But we have no idea if that was the case. The Rangers were not going to trade for Tarasenko last summer.

i think all things considered they played their cards as good as they could have.

Was hoping for Robertson over Skinner but getting a 1st and 3rd for VT and Mikkola is still a good move. Gonna miss 91!!

That's fair. But then he proceeded to post 34-48-82 in 75gp after expansion. Strike when the iron is hot

This was supposed to be a competitive season. The return most likely wouldn’t have been much more in the off-season given how the cap has been flat.

I'm assuming you mean Skinner, and not Robertson. If you did then no. No! We're not doing this. Hunter Skinner was in the AHL for 2 years and then got demoted to the ECHL. He's included solely so that the Rangers can stay under the contract limit while acquiring both Mikkola and Tarasenko. He's not a prospect. We'll be lucky if he becomes Steve Santini. He's nothing. Don't talk yourself into nothing.

And a comeback from the depths. Just an unreal run that can't be forgotten. And to beat Boston, too. The entire league was rooting for you on that one.
