I have hope for anybody who enters player assistance. The reasons are all things a human can overcome. It’s good that the nhl provides this, because without help a human may be overwhelmed by those types of things. But there's really nothing left out there that makes sense to spend big on (mayyyybe JVR can be had for next to nothing since they can add him without retention?)

We'll be late for trades most likely. A lot of big buyers are gone and our tradeable players are what's left in the bin on clearance at the end of the day.
Dvorak should probably stay. We'll get more value from him as a rental in his final year than we will moving him now with his full contract. That's not the worst thing, because we can still use him.
Edmundson should be moved simply to clear some room at LD.
Drouin will be sent somewhere for whatever we can get, assuming we still have the retention spot available and there's still a buyer.
Hoffman's performance last night cemented that he's only really functional on the PP and as a shooter. Don't see him going without retention, but if we can avoid retaining on Edmundson, I'd use a spot to move him as well. Don't see any obvious destinations remaining for him however.

It's really not that crazy, whether fans like it or not, Anderson has value, now that value is almost solely based on the demand on Anderson and the desperation of the GM to add someone who does what Anderson does but it's value nonetheless.

At this point, I think our TDL was adding Gurianov, there's not much else that "needs" to be done, if someone wants Drouin/Monahan like sure move em but Edmundson's probably staying, he has a year left anyways, probably more of an offseason move

Ouch. Ya gotta fall pretty far when 2.6 million is worth a 7th.

That was probably the cost to not need to dump Vrana, retain part of his contract, in the end, the Vrana trade made sense for both teams

Yeah, especially considering the buyout cost would have been less - would've been $1.4M next year and $1.9M in 2024-25. I dunno, I'd rather eat $3.3M spread over 2 years than $2.6M over one if all that I'm gonna get out of it is a 7th rounder, ya know? Must have become real toxic real fast in Detroit.

I was just surprised they found a taker since he has term, even at 50%. Things had obviously soured in Detroit, and there are off-ice concerns. Good luck to him.
