Tank Commander

Created by: HartemiPanarin
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 10, 2023
Published: Apr. 10, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tankathon has them selecting Reinbacher and Heidt as of me making this. In an ultimate tank move, the Red Wings get teams to pay them to take on salary. The acumulation of picks is immense. Furthermore, everyone not eligible for waivers will be in the AHL for increased ice time, thus allowing the overpaid players to play in the NHL and potentially be able to be flipped at the deadline with salary retention for even more assets. To also tank for the likes of Celebrini or Eiserman, Yzerman decides to run 11 F and 7 D all year.

Reinbacher and Heidt would be quite a bad duo to come out with all things considered.

If we take Reinbacker with a top 12 pick I'm gonna bang head against the wall. No way this team takes all those cap dumps and spends close to the cap just to be bad.

If Detroit is 10th, I suspect Pellikka and/or Reinbacher are off the board as well as Smith. The only player left is Moore at that point, and he is probably off the board too. Leo Carlson will fall from his ranking and be available, but he is the most likely bust (Lafriennier style). Dvorsky is the most over ranked in the top 15.

Canucks easily decline. Boeser isn’t a cap dump, he has positive value.

You can't just say "this is smth that (gm name) would do so don't blame me" to excuse a bad trade. I could just make an ACGM trade Nurse to Van for Kuzmenko and then say "Alvin would do this cause they need D and he's a big dummy" (he would never do that), and I would rightfully so be torn to shreds.

Stop using Holland's trade for Keith (which has somehow benefited Edmonton more than Chicago so far btw) as an excuse to give us overpaid d-men

Definitely not a Holland type of trade. Green, Kulikov, Kulak were rentals, Kulak resigned on a good deal. Keith had 2 years and although Ekholm has term chariot is nowhere near Ekholm. Chariot doesn’t fit a single one of those trades especially when considering his cap hit and term. No comparables. Chariot will cost DET a 3rd to move, if not more lol

He has 54 points this season. That is more points than anybody on the Wings not named Larkin.....

Reunbacher is fine but I'd much rather have Pelika. The top 5 should be pretty set with Bedard, Fantilli, Mitchkov, and Will Smith. I'm unsure on Carlson, I think he falls. Oliver Moore is just outside the elite upside, but would be a great pick in tbe top 10. I can't see 9 teams passing up defensemen just because the BPA is a forward. I think at least 1 team takes Reinbacher, and I'm ok with that. Pelikka is the prize. Whatever team lands him gets to laugh at the teams that overlooked him...like Seider draft.

You are far off, Boeser is a positive value player, Myers is going for future considerations, and we already have the better hirose

Edmonton declines. They already have Nurse, Ekholm, Kulak and Broberg signed next year, they don't need more LHD. And Chiarot is a cap dump anyhow.

Although I'm big on Reinbacher, using a 10OA in this pick for our 2nd line defenseman would be cruddy.

Plus Heidt, as good as he may be, is not what we need.

I don't dislike sandin-pillikka or reinbacker really I just want someone who can score goals. Moore is my dream pick but no way he gets to us probably.

I don't hate either guy I just don't prefer them. Reinbacker is fine but doesn't wow me and heidt I like as a prospect but a pass first winger is the last thing we need.

With 23 future hall of Famers on the Canucks it's very surprising they're 1 point behind Detroit.

How rude of you to not include our LTIR surefire hall of famers OEL, Tucker Poolman, Michael Ferland, and Tanner Pearson. We have at LEAST 28 future HOFers
