You can't trade Matthews and it's gonna be really difficult to move Tavares. How do you win a Marner or Nylander trade?

U can win a Nylander trade or break even on it

But a Marner trade u just cant win or even break even in my eyes. It would be a loss as soon as it hits the table

Matthews u could probs get the return of a century but do u do it. Leafs will have 15mill and got some descisons to make

There's a tweet by Pappetti explaining things but like Kadri dont trade just to trade lul

I don't think you do. But you can't really justify running it back with these four guys.

I might be in the minority but I'd probably trade Matthews over the big 4. Tavares is impossible to move, and I see more leadership qualities in Marner and Nylander than Matthews, they were more visible in this series, as well as the TB one imo. Plus, you'd probably get the best return for him, even as a pending UFA.

Only thing Matthews will lead in the team is the payroll...lol

Didnt they add JP to

3 assists in 24 games, counting regular season and playoffs. Yeah they technically got him but he's had absolutely zero impact, they could've put any AHL player to his place and nothing would change.

Would you lose Nylander to keep OReilly and your depth. Even tho he was arguably your most dangerous player when you needed someone.

It's about as expected but yeah. He's going back to Europe after this year, no use for him in NHL at this point.

They said East is going to be deadly after the deadline.

Rn the teams we have left are Florida and Carolina.

Their deadline acquisitions in total
- Shayne Gostisbehere

Sometimes it probably is better to stick what you have and build their chemistry to max level.

Also, neither team has yet lost a game in OT. Not against BOS and NYI, not against TOR or NJ.

Imo it's of a show of how the playoffs are so random. Because last year it was different, NYR traded for Copp. Col for Manson, lehky. Tampa had Hagel and Paul.

I think the biggest common denominator for success is speed (Team speed or Foot Speed) and also the factor of who's hungrier which sound cringe to say but like it's noticable when a team is playing like they want it more.

Well at this point I don't see any Finn heading to KHL for obvious reasons. Plus the guy can barely speak english, he'd have serious trouble in Russia.

He's going back home to Oulu and Kärpät. Or SHL.

I think he comes back but it wont be for a while. As sometimes a trip to another leagues all a player like this needs. Let him establish himself than come back better and more confident.

Dom Luszczyszyn shows he's clearly a homer by yelling on its twitter the Rielly disallowed goal was a good goal

Was it a goal? Yes so it seems.

Was it a good one? Apparently not since it went against the rules.

Once again, the one thing that shouldn't be questioned is not the play, but the rulebook imo.

Not sure why broadcasts include the “rules analysts”. I have yet to see one come on the air and say, “the refs got it wrong”.

Everyone has a price...

For example:
TML trade AM for the Ducks 2nd OA pick (Fantilli) and blah blah blah _________, __________...
(obv ANA has to know AM will sign a deal to stay beyond his current contract)

Turn the 2023-24 season 26yr old and his US$11.6 MIL into 3 or 4 young player studs commanding lesser-$ & likely making the same, or more, contribution to the TEAM...

If ANA fails, then TML options 2 thru 22 include:
CHI, CBJ, SJ, LA, VAN, MTL etc etc etc...
