This reminds me of the Tyson Barrie days. More or less, reasonable signing and easy contract to move if needed

Ehhh. It's a fair gamble but not the type of d man the Leafs need. Same reason I didn't want them going for Karlsson. Kinda feels like Barrie 2.0

I know this is going to get a lot of hate, but I for one really like this deal. Big fan of Klingberg who had a really good run in Minnesota. Looked sharp in the playoffs. So much upside here, and only for 1 year? So pumped.

Likely means we are out on Bertuzzi, but Domi is still a go

You have 5 Million and still have to sign Samsonov, don't think you'll get Domi

Remove Murray from the equation. He'll be traded for bought out during the second buyout period after arb

Perhaps, Toronto still need some more depth players, I don't think it should all be spent on Domi. Atleast 3 more NHL forwards.

Agreed. I for one dont necessarily want Domi, but it looks like thats the route we are going down. Give me Fischer and Gurianov

smart move, good money, short deal. helps bolster the defence further with the assumed continued loss of Muzzin to the LTIR. Klingberg, with the right D-partner could have a great return to form in TOR.

To me this is good for 2 reasons

1. People said Leafs need more offense well news flash it does not have to be from the forward group alone.

2. Its a 1 year deal

And for those who say we got Reilly you dont just need one offensive guy

If we look at Toronto's Blue line production reg season last season

Liligren 6 goals
Reilly 4 goals
Sandin 4 goals
Giordano 4 goals
Brodie 2 goals
Timmins 2 goals
Holl 2 goals
McCabe 1 goal
Schenn 1 goal

Now lets compare to a top blue line like Carolina

Thats with Murray on the team but factor in a move or buyout they got around 10mill

Domi will probs get something in the 4mill range along with Sammy
