Chicago in the interesting position of having, ya know, no expectations this current season except supporting their new talent. Now that he’s going to sit for a tad, the players can like…yolo without consequence while also simplifying the game. That makes them dangerous opposition and impossible to game plan against.

Complete side note: if nylander gets announced at 11.5 and that perhaps upsets some people I’m here to remind that Nylander has as many points rn as McDavid. That’s good company. It’ll all be okay. Cap goes up a lot soon: inflation will hit nhl player salaries and league rev just as its hitting everything else. League rev and the pay will lag the rest, such as food or housing, due to the CBA, but that is a time shift only. Players signed before that will likely look like a bargain in 5 yrs. It’s borderline impossible to offer a bad contract to a 27 year old at this moment in history. They’d have to have extreme injury history. Every team should be like hungry hungry hippos on term with youth.
