Did you read those conditions on the CGY pick ? MTL ain't trading that pick and they ain't trading for Kotkaniemi either
The mistake wasn't to let him go, it was to pay premium for Dvorak

No shot. KK is mid - on pace for 34 pts this season. Not paying a better player, a high pick, and another pick to acquire him on a bad contract

Why would you want to engage with a poster as "closed-minded" as me CBA?!

Did you feel that way 22 games ago when he was hitting a PPG pace?

Canes pass. As long as KK regains the form he had to start the year, Canes don’t even consider that.

He had 15 points in his first 21 games (aka 22 games ago)

Thats not a ppg pace. Its .71.

Also George laraque at one point had a 11 points in 11 game stretch but nobody was calling him a ppg player. Small sample size swings are meaningless in a long term evaluation

Yep. Plus I don't think we need him - we have Suzuki and Dach down the middle, and the way things are going, we're getting Helenius as well.
And then 2025 Draft has a lot of forwards

He was ppg because he had 2 linemates shooting over 30%. Theyve fallen back down to earth and his points have dried up

He's got bad blood for the Habs organization now, no way I would want him back. I would much rather use those assets on a different player.

KK has been absolutely snake bit recently and he's still performing very good as a 2C. Points aren't the only determining factor of a players effectiveness.

He's a fine player but aint worth close to this package which rivals a return for a superstar. And, he'd not want to go back to MTL and Habs fans wouldnt want to see him as well. Its simply Hodge Podge

He had 3 pts in his last 22 games..........

And I don't belive that he want to come back to MTL.

Hard pass for both teams.

What is a "bad look" please. If I knew what the heck that meant, I might be inclined to take offence!

You have no hockey knowledge at all
The majority of our fan base are like you, the difference with you is you are replying. The others don’t read comments and don’t learn. You read the comments and choose to continue with the bad trades

You don’t know what Kent Hughes want/like
You don’t know what the other team would want/like
You don’t know the value of contracts/picks/players
You can’t evaluate a player properly (you look at the stat column)
Etc.

The only mistake MTL would like to undo was drafting him in the first place.
passed on Tkachuck, Quinn Hughes, Evan Bouchard, Noah Dobson... drafting KK should cost the entire front office their jobs.

This and being ok with letting go of Danault for nothing in the same summer, while also signing Hoffman (unrelated, but still a terrible move)... What a horrible offseason that was.

Danault —> Dvorak via trade
Hoffman —> Tatar via Free Agency
Savard —> Weber via Free Agency
Evans —> Kotkaniemi via Depth

Terrible terrible offseason indeed

Can I extrapolate from that comment that you are narcissistic enough to believe:

YOU know want Kent Hughes wants and likes?
YOU know what the other teams would want/like?
YOU know the market value of contracts/picks/players?
YOUR player analysis is at the level of an an NHL pro scout?

Just want to clarify if I am talking to an expert here or just a narcissistic anonymous poster crying into his beer.
