The contracts are really good + you're keeping the core but..., forwards roster si extremely small and non-physical. I would trade at least 2 amongst Byron, Caufield, Evans, Ylonen for bigger guys

I know, was half joking about Mantha trade. Tried it before and you wings fans want to keep him. Fair enough. But this proves also that Petry won'T go to the wings. As you mention, He will ask for more money than the wings would offer him. They are in a rebuilt and in a pandemic situation. Makes more sense for the habs to put that much money since he's part of our core and ''in theory''we should contend for playoffs at least in 2021-22. I guess he will visit his family on days offs. Just 1hour flight from Montreal.

Thanks for your input fellow GM's.. Just one thing tough, as i said in the typo, there's not really a 1st,2nd, or 3rd lines. They are all 3 second lines. All our players are more or less in the same category, at the moment and would have similar ice time. Will they accept this ? They should as none of them would be offered 1st lines roles in most other teams.

That can be arranged : Petry Extended + Domi to wings for Mantha

Ok, this can be worked out. But if you were Petry would'nt you like securing an extra year playing with the same team, now that the habs are getting better. I would.
Danault 5.5-6 is ok but that's the maximum or Domi 's back on center

OEL makes too much sense
This is why i don't like the trade for Edmundson. If Bergevin signs Edmunson, and trade for OEL, than it would be OEL - Chiarot - Edmunston for at least 2-3 years.
This means trading all of Mete, Kulak, and Romanov . Seems unlikely, no ?
I hoped for something like OEL - Chiarot - Romanov, but with edmundson in the picture, chances are suddenly very slim.

Pens should start rebuilding sooner than later imo. When you have players like Crosby, Malkin, Letang, I can understand that Pens GM wants to try another year, but the longer they wait the less they will get in return when trading those players that could replenish pitsburgh prospect pool.

just glad you did not sign Edmundson. Honestly, I still don'T understand why Bergevin has traded for him. We already have a Chiarot. Our need is clearly for a speedy puck-moving defenseman. Can't rely only on Petry for this.

Can you sign Deangelo at that price for longer term ??? I Like your idea of replacing Petry with a similar type of player (DeAngelo) but younger. However, for this to be a real gain, it would have to be someone we can lock for 6-7 years, at this lower cap hit $$$. A Samuel Girard type of contract. I don't see that much advantage of having Deangelo over Petry for the next 3 years, and then we risk loosing him because he'll want too much $$$.

Don't like the Drouin - Domi - Ehlers line. Need someone to get the puck in the corners on that line. I Like the Suzuki line though. Well balanced and i like the idea of Gally taking all these rebounds from Hall shots on net.

If hall were signable what year two would look like
Good post. Yeah Hall at more than 7.5$ X 7years , I would not do. Also your post shows why imo we can't sign Gallagher. As much as I love Gally, I would like him at 5M$ X 5 years, and i'm not sure he agrees to that. Same for Petry. He will be 34, so I wouldn't sign him for that much. My guess is he'd be ok with less $$$ and longer term. I sign him at 4.5M$ X 4 years. Edler got 6$M from Canucks, but only for 2 years.
I totally agree with you about Armia and Danault money (although I think Danault asks for 5-7 years, to which I would agree.)

Realistic Laine trade
Habs need to pay more. Caufield + Danault (+ maybe Fleury). Altough if I were the jets I would prefer Domi + Caufield. Isn't the Domi family from this area. Caufield 's from Wisconsin, not too far also. This is important when the time comes to re-sign.
I can see Jets accepting this if they know that Laine has no intention of signing long term.
On the other hand, would Laine sign long term with the habs ? Is it all worth it if just for 2 years ?

A realistic dream
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>A couple of things. First it really doesn't matter how I or The Wings value Mantha WHEN THEY DON'T WANT TO TRADE HIM. It's not like me or another Wings fan on this site is trying to force him down your throat 15 times a day for more than he is worth. Second and this one you might want think about for a while because I think the concept is going to be hard for you to grasp because you are having so much trouble with Detroit doesn't want to trade Mantha. As soon as you start to argue how not good or bad he is it completely undermines your argument for wanting him it’s called a logical fallacy. Plus it doesn’t make you look very bright.</div></div>
I guess you're too emotional about Mantha to discuss any trade. I can understand that. I like Suzuki a lot and it would take a lot for me to trade him. But Please remember that this site is for discussing trade values, and... it's just for fun.
My post mentionned, right from the start that a trade COULD be possible if Mantha was not interested in signing long term with Detroit.
What you are saying is that , no matter if Mantha wants to sign long term or not with the wings, you are still not listening to any offers. Ok.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jpsnow13</b></div><div>If you want to go on about maturity, I got a suggestion for you: Stop describing how much you want Mantha like a toddler in a candy factory and start showing some empathy, asking yourself if Detroit would want to trade him. They dont. He's a young power foward on a cheap contract. No way they would agree to downgrade for Domi troubles.</div></div>
Many many things are taken into considerations in those types of trades. It's not as simple as : Do Wings fans like Mantha ? Yes. Ok so he is un-tradable.
First, why don't you mention the 1st pick and the 2nd pick that I added. You just mention Domi. A 16 OA pick could easily turn out to be a Mantha. Mantha is not a generational talent. Also, it is possible that Mantha is not incline to go through the massive rebuild the wings have to undergo and would sign the shorthest term possible with the wings. Are you certain that this is not so ? Have you tought about it ? You only rely on Wings fan saying they don't want to trade him. I am sure GM consider many options. So here's 3 questions for you. Let's say you are Detroit GM. a)How many years you think until Detroit becomes a contender ? b)Do you see Mantha as an first class leader around which you build a team. c)Would you accept three 1st pick for Mantha. I hope you won't answer : ''You just donT' get it. Wings will not trade Mantha''. Please....try.

Look, the habs need a player Sniper with size and top 6. There are not many of them. That is why you are seeing a lot of... Mantha, Hall, Laine, etc trades . Who else is available that fits this need. Tarasenko ? Ovechkin ? Stamkos ? Don't think so. Player has to want playing in Montreal also. Mantha is local. Do you realize that in this lineup, what was our 1st line in previous year becomes our 3rd line. Not bad !
Don't mean to be impolite but are you very young of age ?
