Drouin is too low, and Chiarot is way better than Scandella and he’s the best LHD on MTL. Suzuki is also way too low. Lehkonen, Byron, Mete, & Armia should also be higher, but I understand that you’re trying to (on average) make everyone lower than they are in the real NHL 20.

Yup. Probably should put Nugent-Hopkins on the wing too - up near the top.

Im always confused by how high Pettersson is ranked in these lists. How is he better than O'Rielly, Couturier, Barkov, Point, etc? I get that hes really good and has tons of room to grow but he also has never cracked a point-per-game pace even when used almost exclusively on offense with a 66.2% oZS% at even strength in his career with very sheltered defensive minutes (0 PK time, tons of PP time and very minimal D zone starts). Guys like Barkov, Point, Stamkos, etc have similar, if not better, offensive production even with more balanced defensive roles and less PP time. Pettersson is probably more flashy and fun to watch but I dont get how he is viewed as better than most of those guys you have ranked as 90

Zibanejad is too high, his shooting percentage is unsustainable and is guaranteed for regression next year. He isn't a good play-driver, and all he really has going for him is finishing ability and shooting talent. He is pretty good on the power-play however. I have other issues with this list, but that's my main one.

I'm never sure what the point of these ratings are, or how you derive them.

how so? Identical production but Pettersson was given much more PP time, no PK time, and more offensive deployment. Aho plays all situations and was given less offensive deployment while still having better possession numbers. imo Aho > Pettersson

Pettersson beats Aho in nearly every GAR category. EVD, EVO, total GAR. Aho plays on the PK not because he's good defensively, and boy is he bad at defense. He's on it so there's a threat to score a shorty. That's it. You play at all situations? Cool! How well you perform is what actually matters. Aho didn't perform well on the PK, was negative in SHD, and Pettersson once again beats him in PPO. Not to mention the better xGF%, GF%, HDCF%.

if these are based on offensive ability the lists are all wrong, if they are based on overall ability you have alot of players in the mid to high 80s that shouldnt be there for example danault at 86 shouldnt be equal to or higher than cirelli, kuznetsov, schenn, krejci etc. then you have left wingers paciorrety for example at 88 over too many to list, jamie benn hasnt warranted a mid 80s rating in years. Carlo at an 80 is a joke, especially when 1 year in the league and you have fox at an 86.

I think this happens b/c people unconsciously factor in a young player's potential into the equation. Pettersson is the perfect example. He probably has a higher offensive ceiling than some of the guys you mentioned, but he's not nearly as complete of a player as Barkov, ROR, or Point at this stage of his career.
