PASS! Why would we wanna sell the farm to get Gibson? Koskinen had a great regular season last year and no Oilers showed up for the playoffs. We're tied to Koskinen for two more seasons but I'm not even mad at that If we get a proper D core in front of him and he plays just like he did last season we have potential to do damage in the playoffs.

He’s easily worth Bear/Bouchard + B forward + 1st. He’s a top 5 goalie IMO, young and on a really good deal. He likely has more value than any other goalie besides hellebuyck. They both have comparable contracts and numbers. Vasy’s contract will be his downfall. I think that if EDM seriously wanted to get Gibson. The package would look like Koskinen (cap reasons) + Bear/Bouchard + B forward prospect + 1st. Especially considering they’re moving Gibson to another team in their division.

it would most likely take an overpay that no team would really want to pay for a goaltender. Anaheim (that I know of) doesn't have someone coming up in their pipeline to replace gibson, so they'd have to be heavily convinced.

Gibson would either be acquired through an overpay or a goalie of caliber in part of the return - and the only goalies of that ilk are Helly and Vasy - and hart just due to harts age and potential

Remove Holloway and it’s an overpay still but likely more fair and conceivable

Alright, so after all this feedback, my conclusion to this would be to wait out Rodrigue and Konovalov, I personally wouldn't want to let go of Yams, Bouchard, Broberg, Holloway or Samorukov

Koskinen had a better sv% last year by far despite playing behind a more porous defense. I get that it was a down year for Gibson and he's the more talented goalie, but there's no point in blowing your brains out chasing a guy who *might* provide better goaltending. Edmonton should focus on getting a better 1B instead.
