Blue Jays just demolished the Orioles in a game they needed to win to make the playoffs, but they needed the Nationals to also win to make the playoffs (and a few other things but it came down to the Nationals) - and the Nationals blew a 5-1 lead.


I may be way late on this but I think Jays fans shouldn't be angry at the Nats when they gave up 12 and 8 runs to that same Nats team in August. Having to rely on a bottom 5 team in the league with major bullpen issues to close a game out isn't a great road to success tears of joy

I won't be paying much attention to the MLB playoffs since my team didn't make it in. A good friend of mine is a Cardinals fan, so i'll root for them.

Once the Rays choked against the Yankees it was obvious the Jays playoff hopes were dead to rights. My friends and I were keeping an eye on the Nats/Sox game yesterday and absolutely did not trust them even though they were up 5-1.

Anyways I don't have to care about baseball anymore until the spring. We're likely getting a Dodgers / Astros rematch anyways.

Hopefully it's something that EA doesn't shut down after the next game comes out like 2K does with its online stuff. if Chel 22 ends up being good, i may not need to buy another NHL game ever again. I can just download the roster of the next season.

Darn right we won't. smile

Now at least this clarifies that the comments about Vigneault were unrelated to the comments about the meds, he was just bashing him for his general coaching abilities, which-like I said earlier-makes sense, because why would Vigneault have anything to do with his players' recovery and health? That would be from the team doctors.

I heard he was very capable in the preseason so far, it's just odd considering their top 6 is Byram, Girard, Johnson, Makar, Murray & Toews (who is likely missing some time, but still). They also traded a pick for MacDermid and MacDonald was solid last season. This means Jack Johnson is the 9th or 10th defenseman on their depth chart, depending on where McKeown stands.

I guess they'll have MacDermid, MacDonald and Johnson (that sounds like a name for a law firm, BTW) compete for that 6th spot while Toews is out (which I'm highly annoyed about, seeing as how he's on my fantasy team, so Justin Faulk and Colton Parayko had better produce smile)
