Chara cost them the game last night and Trotz said he played well. Might be time to get rid of both of them.

The Canucks would appreciate if you fired Trotz

lol he’d bench Hughes every other game and put Pettersson with Pearson and Motte. Canucks fans would hate Trotz

It can’t be worse than Travis Greens dump and chase putting Alex Chiasson on PP1 and playing Pettersson with Jason Dickinson on the third line while the PK continues to fall. I’d take my chances with Trotz

whats wrong with putting Chiasson on pp1 Oilers had him on their pp1 in 2019-20 and 2020-21 and in both those years they had the best pp in the league

Cause Chiasson is terrible. Yes he’s gotten a few points but he is a turnover machine and we have other players that can play net front. He also takes Boesers place on the PP1 sometimes which is just dumb

Just curious the value of Chiarot and Holl. Just had a Leafs fan yell at me cause I said that no way the Canucks trade a first round pick for Justin Holl…

Bubba you talked to is incredibly biased. IMO holl is worth a third at MOST, if Dubas was able to get a sucker to give second for him I’d be ecstatic and do it in a heartbeat.

Holl is a low end 2nd pair dman, and a perfect third pair dman. Muzzin rly propped him up last year, and now that muzzins slumping so is holl, which shows his dependence on a good partner. So he’s not worth much. If I’m a gm, I’m not paying any more than a third

Chiarot is the kind of physical veteran “defensive” defenseman that GMs love to overpay for.

Holl is having a down year, and doesn’t get the bump Chiarot does. No way he gets a 1st. (Although a 1st for Chiarot as a rental is already absolutely ridiculous)

Sounds like leafs nation lol. I think if he's traded, it's for at least a second round pick because they protected him over McCann. The problem is I'm not sure who would pay a second round pick for him. Chariot's value might be slightly higher, but not much.

I wouldn’t really trade a second for someone who was a healthy scratch. Also it was from PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood

Yes, I agree, but I can't seeing Dubas parting with him for less, in other words, he'll probably be staying in Toronto for the time being. Maybe at the deadline they upgrade him.

That’s probably for the best. Seeing Savard get traded for a first was already pretty shocking. I don’t see the leafs trading him when is value is very low

He's trying to argue that Holl is better than Subban offensively this year

Holl has 0 points in 13 games
Subban has 9 points in 16 games

Has there ever been a team with a winning record in draft lottery talks before

I feel like with how the Metropolitan division looks right now, there could be someone with 40+ wins on the year in like P7 in the standings. I hate that we’re stuck in there, but there really isn’t any other choice (unless Bettman changes his mind on Quebec and moves Arizona there, then you could switch the new team in Quebec with Columbus, so they’re in the central division).

Well if he came to Toronto he would probs be paired with Muzzin who is better defensively (when healthy) than the majority of the blues LD. Either way yeah not looking good for him or the blues since Pitrangelo left.

I really don't think that'll happen. Some of those teams will fall off. The Isles are struggling, Trotz is overplaying bad players, and some of their better players are injured, so it doesn't look like they'll necessarily be going on a winning streak any time soon. There are also question marks about Columbus (nobody thought they'd be this good, they could easily regress), Pittsburgh (many injuries, age), and New Jersey (young, this might be their step forward year, but if they hit a wall they could have a loss of confidence that causes them to spiral). There's no way all of them have a good season, I would be very surprised if more than 5 teams reached 40 wins in the division. For reference, last year only 14 teams reached 28 wins, and never more than 4 teams in any single division (28 wins last year being equivalent to 41 wins in a regular year). I'm not sure how much in-division play there's been there yet, but when those games happen only one team will come out with the win obviously, and like I said, I think the hot starts will likely slow down for some teams.
