Good for LA, hopefully he doesn’t ruin development though

I could defintely see him taking over as GM and Rob Blake moving to a senior executive position within the next few years.

Like it or not, Bergevin is a top 10 GM in this league.

Top 10 is maybe a bit high but Bergy is a good GM for sure

Believe it or not, I actually believe Timmins is very, very good at his job. The players he drafted would also be top notch prospects until they came to Laval/Montreal. It was never a drafting problem, just a developing problem.

He had handicaps because he GM'd Montreal. Now he gets to go to a Franchise where those limitations aren't there. He can sign anybody he wants (already reported that he's trying to bring Voynov back) with no repercussions.

If Voyonov ever comes back to the NHL

God help the NHL

As sponsors will be going ah hell nah which could cause massive profit drops

or heck

Maybe like DeAngelo people make a big deal for a month then nothing but praises for how well hes doing

Meh, he wasn't as awful as people make it seem, he wasn't really blessed with tons of high picks either, but I wouldn't be excited if my team hired him.

It’s a bit of both, our drafting wasn’t great but our development wasn’t great either so you’re not fully sure which is to blame

Ducks tonight:
-Tracey and Dostal make NHL debuts (Dostal in particular playing great, continues to look like a future starter)
-Comtois scores his first goal of the seasons after returning from his hand injury.
-Zegras is the best rookie on the ice in the Calder trophy face-off against Raymond and Seider.
-Terry scores his 22nd goal of the season.
-Rakell scores this shootout goal

For the first time ever I'm glad I overslept a Stars game. That end would have been so frustrating to watch.

Yep, Blues already have Faulk, Parayko, Krug, Ducks seem to be overperforming but not true contenders so Kings make the most sense, their asset pool is also deeper

Blues could have a stacked top 4 of Faulk, Parayko, Krug, and Chychurn but I don't see any team outbidding the Kings unless they're dumb and vastly overpay for Chychrun

Stick with him until next year and see if there's alternative options in the market for next year. They could potentially make a run for Campbell if he hits free agency, Samsonov would be a good back up for him.

Keep him as the starter. He has his struggles at times but also seems to get far less help from his defense from night to night than Vanecek does. His upside, as shown from his earlier season form, is far greater than Vitek and should be locked down this year. I'm hoping for a 4.5 x 5 type deal, since Demko got a 5 x 5 and Samsonov is worth slightly less. Capitals fans are far too critical (and many still nostalgic and angry that Holtby is gone) on Samsonov, but he's got some great talent.

Edit: I would consider keeping Vanacek and going with a tandem since we know Samsonov can have his struggles, and Vanacek is a good enough option to lean on more if Samsonov struggles. If Vitek must be traded, I would look for a backup like Reimer, someone who in my opinion is a good backup and is capable of starting for short stints for when another goalie struggles.
