So Kane could not be terminated - we’ll see within 24hrs

If Kane gets terminated and not suspended from playing the rest of the NHL season and if teams are willing to look past the outside drama and just look at the talent present (Like Deangelo)

5 teams who I could see signing Kane the day after or before the deadline

1. Edmonton
2. Tampa
3. Toronto
4. Vegas
5. Rangers

As how can you pass on a 20 goal scorer who probs gonna cost 750k - 1mill who could tip the cup balance in your favor...

Good welcome back

But man that trade is still just a brutal bad look for Vegas

No confirmation, no nothing for him

Like HE FOUND OUT VIA SOCIAL MEDIA THAT HE GOT TRADED

What kind of GM does that to a player

Easy-because he's a garbage person and a terrible human being. I hate, hate, HATE it when teams say "We don't give a damn about his morals (or lack thereof) and messed-up life, if he's talented at the sport, we'll take him." It's horrific. You see it happening all the time now. Hockey was clean of this for a long time, and I don't want it to change. I CAN'T BELIEVE Team Canada is considering Jake Virtanen for the Olympics, or that the Habs took Logan Mailloux, and for that matter, I didn't think DeAngelo deserved a 2nd chance either.

To be clear, if all Kane messed up on was the fake vaccination card, I could understand a team saying "We'll give him a 2nd chance", but he's done so much worse than that. He is an absolute lowlife. If any team signs him, they will become one of my least favorite teams in the league instantly. He does not deserve to be in the NHL.

I think Kane is definitely a bigger risk than Deangelo ever was but most of the teams you listed don’t have the leadership needed to keep him in check. Tampa would be the best fit. He would dismantle the Oilers or Leafs

Tbh it wouldn’t be a that bad of an idea.

Depends on the price though, 50% retention would be needed.

Heiskanen, Hintz, and 3 first round picks
We’re talking about elite Norris winning defensemen PK Subban

Marek says the asking price for Jakob Chychrun is a young player, a top prospect & a 1st rounder.

Notes LA, STL & ANA as teams who could show interest.

That ask seems about right, I placed it at 1st, prospect and another good asset (pick or prospect)

Bobcat’s Post Game Notes, Game 33

Jackets win 4-3 over the New Jersey Devils.

-The only complaint I had about the lines were that Texier was scratched. Bemstrom was at 4RW, you could have switched Bemmer and Tex and it would have been perfect.

-Aye-aye, Captain! Boone scores off of Tatar’s skate. We take those.

-Oliver Bjorkstrand was close to netting a hatty tonight. Wasn’t for a lack of trying; we were really wanting to score on that empty net.

-AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING, YEGOR CHINAKHOV HAS SCORED HIS SECOND NHL GOAL! And this time, he was on-side! Sorry, I just get very, very excited when Yegor scores.

-Nico Hischier had Korpi dead to rights, and somehow Korpi became f*ckin’ Dhalsim from Street Fighter and made a mind-blowing save. That net is officially Korpi’s Krease (tm).

-Fun Fact: Jakub Voracek has only scored one goal this year. And he’s currently in the top 100 in NHL scoring with that one goal.

-Feels really good to get back into the W column. Felt like a little while since we last won. I was going to make some sort of joke about how we only win at home by going through the rest of the schedule operating under the assumption that we lost every game on the road and won every game at home. We’d be at exactly .500 with 42-41-1, and that isn’t exactly funny.

Texier wasn’t scratched, he’s in protocol with Bayreuther

I think a first or maybe two firsts plus a top prospect is fair for one of the best Dman in the league

Oilers just cancelled their practice, more news to come per Rishaug.

I suspect the Sens game is cancelled.

EDIT: Per Friedman, it's postponed to next Saturday.

"The NHL is supporting the Sharks’ move, “satisfied the Club has sufficient grounds to effectuate a termination.” The NHLPA tweeted that it will “challenge any such action by filing a grievance.” Kane’s agent, Dan Milstein, tweeted “the Sharks do not have sufficient grounds for taking this action.”". - Elliotte

So the NHL approves of the termination whereas the NHLPA/Kane both hold the right to file a grievance. Furthermore - it will add a wrinkle to Kane's track at getting back to a new team as it is NOT clear if Kane can transition to a new team and what not while this situation is being sorted out. So we likely will see the grievance play out before Kane signs with a new team, at least that's what we can expect for now.

There likely will be an arbitrator involved if Kane/NHLPA and the NHL/SJS cannot reach a settlement. In the end we could potentially see Evander Kane under two NHL contracts; a settlement contract with SJS and a contract with his "new team".

San Jose Sharks
Timo Meier, 10th in NHL scoring, has played his way into that spot with a pretty interesting comparison to all the other top 10 guys. He by far and away has the least powerplay time by anyone nearby.

For clarity, Meier has 2:17 average power play time. The next closest in the top 10 is Gaudreau who is over 3min. Meier in multiple cases is playing almost 3 minutes less on the power play than his peers. Ovi has nearly 5 minutes of average power play time (lmfao, thats crazy) (4:56). Connor and Leon have almost 4.

Troy Terry, 17th in scoring, is the next most interesting case, with Terry at 1:55min of PP time.

I think its pretty remarkable how Meier, a staple 5v5 play driver throughout his career, continues to do his work without a heavy power play load. Even more so, Meier is NOT being inflated by other weird numbers. For example, Meier has the lowest shooting % out of any in the top ten easily. Meier's 10.8% scoring rate is standout, with the next lowest guys in the top players being Hedman and Adam Fox at 15th-16th in scoring (both D men have around 7%).

Per moneypuck; when 5 on 5 Meier is in the 98th and 100th percentiles in generating scoring chances and finishing, with strong play driving (75th percentile) and is estimated at 12.85 million dollar value play.
