Put some respect on my boy Middleton’s name, hoping he recovers fully from his concussion, we need you king.

edit: realize this only uses his 1 game, not 28 this season but his 5on5 (28gp) stats support the model above

He looks like he’s 37

This and Russia’s roster only reinforces my opinion that Russia will simply dominate lol. I was hoping Canada might have a shot, but it looks like they only have a shot at silver, nothing on this team compares to the likes of Grigorenko, Shipachyov, Marchenko, Gusev, Voynov, and Nesterov lol

His “apology “
He was reading off a script

Everyone reads a prepared statement in these situations. Politicians do it all the time. If there’s video evidence of him doing the gesture to players who are white then this whole saga needs to end and he should be reinstated by the ECHL

Because he used the gesture before doesn't mean he didn't use the gesture in a racist way. We'll see what the ECHL decides

Lots of former Habs - Staal, Weal, Desharnais, Barberio, Carr. Cracknell was in the organization as well but he was part of like every NHL team at some point.

Pretty sure Pasquale was in the org too

Edit: Pasquale was a St. Johns Icecap but not sure if that's when the Habs had them

Completely falling apart because of one injury has happened to the Leafs 2 years running. Maybe you should plan for an injury.

I don't think this is really accurate. You could argue the Muzzin injury cost them in the CBJ series, but what it really came down to was the offence not getting the job done. Last year they had multiple significant injuries and even after they occurred the Leafs still managed to get a stranglehold on the series and they choked it away; injuries aren't the reason or any excuse for that.

I’ll start by saying I do agree, the stars need to produce and injuries shouldn’t be an excuse, but not being able to play defense without Muzzin has been a repeated issue, and Muzzin is fairly injury prone (injured now, injured against the Habs, injured against Columbus). Bringing in a guy like Chiarot wouldn’t be the worst idea for the Leafs to stabilize their bottom pair (might even move one of Chiarot/Muzzin to the right side) and have a guy that can log top 4 minutes in case of an injury. I don’t think he’s worth Robertson+1st or anything crazy, but from a purely “would this be beneficial” standpoint I think that’s definitely something the Leafs should be looking into. That and a better 3C than Kampf, it would be nice if they had someone that doesn’t make you claw your eyes if they have to play in the top 6 and could get some consistent secondary scoring if the big 4 do dry up (Kase was a great pick up, and I love him and Spezza, but you do need another reliable scoring option in the bottom 6 that can be counted on to contribute a couple goals over the course of a 7-game series imo, and I don’t trust Kampf, Mikheyev, or Engvall to be that guy).

NHL Fans/Critics: Keefe should put Matthews, Marner, and Nylander on 3 separate lines

Keefe does it

These same Fans/Critics: WTF IS HE DOING, IS HE INSANE?

I guess there's no pleasing people lul

It’s probably not a long term thing but I like that Keefe is a least willing to try new things.

I'd like to see the NHL ban players who do this to just harden down. Its not a big ask. Banning (or indefinite suspensions) of players who commit racism/ homophobia etc, that way showing more severity. You can't stop these acts throughout the world, but giving someone harsh consequences for harsh/ harming acts should be the solution. Even if its not in the NHL, making the point of how these things are unacceptable is what matters. It's not a big ask nor is it a "heroic" act if the NHL does this, but it does matter and will effect players who are shown that they will not make the NHL being bad humans.

A ban would be great but that's too optimistic, in any regular job, doing that would mean instant loss of said job but that's a bit too wishful for Hockey
