Our Olympic roster is so weak 😭😭

That's normal, anyone not named Russia is an underdog when there's no NHLer's

Maybe I am being patriotic, but I honestly feel Finland has a fighting chance. Even against the ruskies.

They' ve never been overly good at choosing an optimal team, with people actually chosen for the roles they will play in the games (meaning 8min/game checking line with PK minutes)

Jalonen on the other hand excels in that.
We got an (almost too) experienced team,who know each other from earlier tournaments.

We got a solid 3 punch off top KHL goalies.

Almost all skaters play top roles in their KHL or swiss league teams.

Even some former NHL experience with Filppula, Vatanen and Uncle-Leo grin

Oh yeh, forgot that others played in NHL aswell few games.
Lehtonen, Pakarinen, Hartikainen, Kemppainen, Lindbohm, Ma. Granlund, Säteri...

One things that was asked of me and I had no answer for: NHL contracted players are not allowed at the Olympics. So why, then, is Mason McTavish able to go? Isn't he nhl contracted? The only explanation I could think of is that he is on an elc that has not kicked in yet, and that this doesn't "count" as an nhl contract for the purpose of the Olympics. Anyone want to clarify on this?

EDIT: it just occurred to me that Pontus Holmberg fits this profile as well.

So theres apparently a 4 team potential bidding war about to start for JT Miller with Nashville maybe joining in soon

But as of rn these are the 4 teams in on him or have given offers

NYR
Wild
Flames
Bruins

Also Minnesota apparently is also looking at Ottawa's Chris Tierney

Havent heard there name in on anyone after Eichel as adding may be risky rn as he could be back by late March/early April.

Because they aren't on their "NHL deals", McTavish is on an OHL deal and Holmberg is on a European loan, the NHL club technically isn't the one whose contracts they're on

Poor Karlsson, was on a tear this year and really performing - is now out after a successful arm surgery, will not play until at least March though (which is when he will be evaluated for a timeline).

Yes, I really hope the new leafs RR is way better than the last one (it was probably a bottom 5-10 reverse retro).

Wonder what Seattle's will look like or if they'll even be part of it lol.

unpopular opinion: Screaming eagle, and those early 2000s jerseys in general are garbage, and arguably the worst in Caps history (current ones aren't that inspiring either)

even more unpopular, my favorite of all of those early 2000s jersey's was the black alternate with the Capitol as the logo
