The possible destinations are based entirely on what montreal is willing to give up to move him.

Petry won’t go anywhere. His contract is brutal and he’s not returning major prospects

Yeah, pretty much all of these are overvaluing Petry. Also, Toronto and Winnipeg won't be trade destinations considering that his reported issue is the fact that he wants to go back to the US.

I’m sorry, but I must have missed something? When did Petry get all this value? It sure as heck couldn’t have been this season. He has a terrible albatross of a contract, and it’s not like he’s a spring chicken anymore. If retention were there I think he could be moved, as long as you disregard the term. The term is what would sink any Petry trade. That’s why Petry, and Gallagher as well, with their contracts, won’t be moved.

the Tampa trade makes no sense...right now McDonagh has more value than Petry, and Cal Foote is quite the unneeded sweetner.

In my nonprofessional opinion, all of the destinations are believable except Vegas Minnesota and Nashville. Min and Nas hav the same problem, they already have too many defensemen and petty wouldn’t get the time he needs to rebound. Plus, the wild JUST resigned greenway. Then Vegas. They have the same problem, and adding on their cap issues. The knights arr going to get rid of players for prospects, not take back someone like petry. But I would love petry on the pens, even if we keep tanger. We haven’t really had a number two dman in a while.

Only Pittsburgh and Dallas are destinations where Petry fits a need. I'm not saying your trades are good, just credible destination.

You can forget all the other ones because they dont need Petry or simply are canadians teams.

I would add Nashville as a credible destination but the just traded away Ellis, I dont see them getting a similar player/AAV one year later.

Oh, I know they did but I think Minnesota would rather have Anderson than Greenway since Andy is better and he is right handed which Minnesota has a bunch of players playing RW who are left handed. If dumba doesn't want to resign they might want to trade him and petry could replace him. OK, maybe so on Nashville and Vegas it wouldn't make sense. But you said that petey won't get enough ice time in minny and Nashville, but what about Pittsburgh? Petry would be 3rd behind Letang and Marino, why wouldn't that lower his ice time? How do you like the petry to Pittsburgh trade I proposed? What would you change?

Lol oilers will happily stick with Barrie. I remember after petry was traded and his dad said something along the lines of will be nice to see him win games now. Forget the exact quote but as an oilers fan what’s happening now feels like poetic justice.

I wouldn’t change anything, but for Petry’s fit in Pittsburgh, I think he would fit on the top pair, then put dumo with matheson or rhuwedel on the third, and keep the second pair together of Peterson and Marino because they have been doing good.

Take Harris and the second out of the Detroit trade and add suzuki. That's the only way you get Hronek and dump Petry on us. The value of what you sent Detroit might be enough to send Petry there for free, but I honestly doubt it.

He would be first pair with petry.

                  Letang-petry
                  Peterson-Marino
                  Matheson-dumolin
I might try and add matheson so the cap will work and rhuwedel can take his place.

Minnesota isn't taking on Josh Anderson or his contract. They certainly aren't trading dumba, 1st round pick, greenway who was just signed today to multiple years for positions they don't need. No deal. Minnesota isn't taking on jeff petry either . They aren't going to take on your mistakes

Greenway was just resigned to 3 years cheap contract today so no we don't, just stop. We don't need RW after boldy was called up.
