True as I read somewhere in order to keep divisions balanced if NHL wants a new expansion they would have to introduce 4 more teams within 2 years or something

In general Muzzin really didnt regress his injuries just caught up. Remember Rielly 2 years ago was playing hurt and I got a feeling same case was being done with Muzzin. I am excited to see how a healthy, rested Muzzin does with a Dcore that will allow him to play less minutes. As with Gio now Muzzin wont need to play 23mins a night.

Heck if we run 7Dman thats gonna be a lot of rest for him.

I would say from the time he joined till now

Pasta boarding hit

The PLD cross check that resulted in him being stretched off the ice in the bubble

LBI he suffered vs. Montreal

And some other LBI injuries

Thats a lot of punishment for a Dman to take especially for one like Muzzin. Add the 2 head injuries and yeah not great.

Plus the amount of physical hits he himself has performed has put a strain on his body. Cause you could just see it he was playing through something. Wasn't the guy we knew last year who would lay out hits, block shots, and play a solid defensive game. Good news is he is rested and the aches and pains have now had time to heal

that's fair, what I've noticed is his skating has gotten worse which is normal for a defenseman his age, that's why he hasn't been as good defending the blue line and overall it's affected his transition + offensive impact.

Yeah LBI's will do that. I feel Gio coming in will make his job so much easier as he for one he wont need to play 23 mins a night and with all that rest most of if not all the aches and pains should be dealt with.

And even now hes not that bad considering hes probs playing hurt

Like with Holl playing much better I am excited to see what a rested Muzzin can do and especially once he is paired with Brodie who should be paired with him as Muzzin needs a puck mover and Brodie is that guy.

Remember last year when Mikheyev couldn't finish on a breakaway
