Who cares. Calgary arguably upgraded on wing. Huberdeau is honestly better than Tkachuk. They also get Weegar out of it too. Looks like Calgary remains a playoff team next season

It's all about money. They knew they can't re-sign Hubby or Weegar so better bank on it now. Plus long-term it might be beneificial as Huberdeau is turning 30 next year, meanwhile Tkachuk's turning only 25.

Treliving is taking a huge risk cuz if he doesn't f*cking sign Huberdeau and Weegar his ass is getting banished from Calgary.

I don't hate it from FLA, they had a sick third line last year that is now the second ...but this is still insane. Think you could have gotten more back fro CGY.

I’d rather go all in than hum and hah and sit in the murky middle. We’re either still contenders for a few years or terrible by 23-24 and tanking, and I’m fine with that strategy.

Yea, makes sense since the core is old. But wholly ****. That was one hell of a win for CGY fans. Went from Tkachuk and Gaudreau to Huberdeau and Weeger, even though Gaudreau walked.

Does this mean one of ur young RDs are available?

Treliving should go to Huberdeau rn and offer what Forsberg got then go to Weegar and say give you what Pelech got or something

As Monahan and Lucic come off the books adding 12 mill in space and I believe the cap goes up another mill

They definitely gave up a lot , but Huberdeau and Weegar are entering the last year of the deals. I think the trade makes sense for Florida, it extends their window and they don’t have to pay Huberdeau 9-10 mill till he’s 37. This is an overpay that is justifiable

We don’t have young RDs lol. I wonder if this actually means Tanev to OTT is reasonable though like @csick wants. Or maybe Kylington or Hanifin gets shipped out because Weegar can play the left.

I think it's safe to say that Calgary is still a top playoff team with this trade. Huberdeau and Weegar are huge pluses and I believe they still money to burn after the Mangiapane/Kylington signings.
