He's not though.

Nino is a terrific 2-way player, Hoffman super isn't. They are not comparable.

Yeah Nino is much better

Hoffman is equally offensively talented, but he’s more of a one dimensional PP Specialist, whereas Nino plays more of a complete game

When the game is on the line, there’s guys you trust and will put on the ice. Hoffman is not that guy unless you’re on the PP

Hoffman has 9 goals and owed 4.5 million next season, I don't think there is a buyer.

"Slightly" better? Niederreiter is a 200-foot player, Hoffman is essentially one-dimensional, but I'll put that down to salesmanship.
"Slightly" cheaper? The difference in cap hits is equal to 1/2 of a minimum-contract player, but I'll put that down to salesmanship.
"Slightly" younger? No. Three years is a very long time in hockey age.

Dadonov probably has more value with retention over Hoffman whom I doubt Hughes would like to retain money on when he has term. Nino is much better than the Hoff who is a straight shooter and little else.

His tanking abilities are better on Montreal. I wouldnt trade such a weapon.
