Yeah, I can tell you right now this isn't happening. Why would they acquire a power forward that is signed until he is on the wrong side of 30 for a grand total of 23 points. You're nuts. Niederreiter (who is a better player on a better contract) returned a 2nd in division. Anderson may return a 3rd

5 GWG though, which is as much as Hughes, Matthews, and Kaprizov. That's why Anderson is good.

And? 23 whole points isn't worth a 1st. Just because 5 of his goals have decided games doesn't mean he's good.

17 goals, the 4th best on Carolina, and Anderson has been playing with MTL the whole year. The guy scores goals. Too bad, he doesn't get assists. I get assists are important, but without a goal, an assist is impossible. The same can't be said about goals.

He cannot defend, he's injury prone, and has 23 points while making 5 million a year until he is 33. He's got no value to any team that isn't Montreal

All absolute confirmation bias. Jeannot has 5 goals this year and got traded a draft pick for every one of his goals this year. That is called a market. Show me one report of Anderson going for such little price as a third? If you cant then you're a nobody yelling at the clouds. I can show you a dozen reports of him going for a 1st plus from the pundits.

So a 40 goal scorer with only 10 assists would only be considered a 50 points player?

If Anderson is worth a first you might as well keep him and build the team around him!

Jeannot is on an ELC. he is a similar quality player to anderson, and younger.

Assume they pay him 3x4 extension.
Thats 14 mill cheaper than anderson over the life of that contract.
14 mill would cost at least a 1st 2nd to cap dump, probably a 3rd as well when you consider the 1st being 2 years out.

now the jeannot price comparable to anderson is a 4th, 5th, Foote.

If Anderson gets traded, it will be a 1st+, and because of that, the chances that he gets traded are extremely low. Carolina is probably the last team to be interested just based on how they allocate their $ in relation to value and age. I'm guessing it's WPG or bust.

Jeannot case isn't really a similar, although the two players do have similarities.

No point proposing Anderson trades here.
We don't need to trade him. Not even sure we should.
It's going to take a premium offer to convince us otherwise.
He's going to have to stop playing to his strengths and rack up assists to convince anyone here he's worth his cap hit.
There's no stats to measure his value outside of production and therefore much of the value he brings will not be acknowledged.
It was the same for Chiarot, but even though we had to sell him, he still brought a premium due to those unmeasured qualities. It's not just one GM either, as one of the most respected GMs followed that up with a raise in free agency, despite his analytics.
Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

He was: a year younger, a year closer to his one productive season and his one playoff run
the draft class was week
The only thing lebrun confirms is that Hughes claims he was offered a 1st LAST YEAR.
Even if you assume it was true, since then nobody has topped that, or hughes would have put that refused offer out. That would mean Anderson's value has gone down, not up

For now lol, Anderson mock trades will last the duration of his contract or until the Habs are competitive and he's a part of it.

Also and very fortunately for Winnipeg, we can almost guarantee that Anderson has Winnipeg on his NTC and he won't waive or for the Jets. Nor would the Jets ask him to.
