I think the Kings are going to miss Vilardi's natural goal scoring ability in the long run

That have it in Kailev

If we compare player values, a similar offer from MTL would have been :

Dach
Dvorak
Ylonen
2nd pick 2023 (37 overall)

LA got fleeced. Vilardi is such a fantastic get for Winnipeg, and Kupari is a great prospect. Iafallo is no slouch either, and he's got a bit of term

Way to go Winnipeg

i was waiting and waiting and waiting for them to play. But LAK only needed so few right handed shooters. last year, they only had 1 right shooter on the entire top, for a period of time, Arvidsson.

I like how everyone went from wanting Chevy fired to suddenly calling him Pierre Dorian 2.0

I see how this story goes trust me

I called it a Fair Deal. Winnipeg wins IF they can sign both RFAs to term, if they sign both of them to short terms deals only to lose them as UFAs, then Los Angeles wins.

Jokes aside, I honestly thought the kings were gonna wait to see if they could lure Matthews over from Toronto, but they soon realized that’s risky and Kopitar while still good is getting up there in age and seeing very limited progress from Byfield they do this instead

If the deal goes well for LA they should be the team to beat in the Pacific for a longtime coming

As for Winnipeg, well I’ll put it like this, they did a very good job considering the lack of leverage they had and overall the talent they received out of the trade isn’t anything to scoff at, Vilardi was fantastic until injuries, Iafallo is entering the prime of his career and should be a steady piece for Winnipeg for the time being and lastly Kupari has shown flashes of promise and very well good be a stable top 6 forward in the future

Day 1 trade grades:

LAK: B+
WPG: A
MTL: F (maybe you could get PLD as his career begins winding down?)

I think it’s a fair deal, Dubois’s a good 2c with the potential to be a 1c while Kupari and Iaffalo both look like 3rd liners, the 2nd’s meh and Vilardi may or may not keep his breakout performance

If Vilardi goes back to what he was 2 years ago this deal could get ugly fast for WPG

They need to pray they get this years guy

Honestly surprised Kaliyev wasnt a part of this deal as that guy needs a change of scenerry. Would have put Heinola in on WPG side and added Kaliyev

I don't follow LA closely, why do you say Kaliyev needs a change of scenery?

Overpay.

Also, still betting he demands a trade in two years. Because what else.

Antonio Brown was a top 5 NFL player.... the best at his position 100% for a solid duration of time. Calling PLD AB is insane if you really think about how good AB was

I'm hearing reports that Dubois has already requested a trade out of LA.

Rob Blake might as well have traded for Blanche DuBois.

The man has absolutely no business being an NHL GM.

If you look him up there have been a few articles by Kings reporters talking about how his time in LA could be running out. And in playoffs he played 2 games then HS the rest

With Iaffalo and Vilardi being moved things could change but that was the question coming out. Cause we already saw Durzi be moved which was a bit of a surprise

Hopefully they play him with PLD and Fiala or something

The trade only gets worse cause the Kings only have 4.5M left in space to fill 5-7 more roster spots including a starting netminder. Villardi/PLD difference isnt worth mismanaging your entire cap and losing leverage. Weve seen teams like Nashville, Philly dump cap just to have have flexibility in 2-3 years yet LA does this! Its a shortsighted move that just ignores any cap complications.

The return will be nada cause they no longer have any leverage. Team that takes Arvisdson are doing them a favour.. That means you have to include an Arvidsson in this trade as he's forced out for nothing.. Chicago, come on down and get your free player!

I got a feeling he's gonna end up with either Carolina, Toronto, or Pittsburgh

I dont think the packages are entirely out of line, but the most surprising part is that LA had to give such a competitive package for someone who made a short list of places hes willing to go and had all the control

Dach is a keeper, Dvorak is way overrated and Ylonen is a big question mark. Vilardi has great potential with his only knock being bad luck with injuries for the last 2 years, Iafallo while small is a gamer Kupari is a big question mark and a couple of spots in round 2 maybe bah. Montreal wasn't trading Dach anyways but even if they did I still take the Kings package

Another guy going to the Leafs eh. Must be hard getting seats on flights to Toronto with all the players going there.
