Florida is going to be an attractive place to play for a lot of veterans. tax free plus a cup final run will do that. good for OEL

Feel like that’s way too much for how he’s performed the last two years

A little too much money, but it is only for a year, so it doesn’t bother me. Hope he can gain some form in Florida.

1 year, a bit expensive for how he’s played but maybe can find a role with them! Gives panthers some depth okay deal

Not worth it. Over 2 millions in a prove it deal for a defender with only one good season in 4 years

Good deal, OEL is still a decent #4/5 guy, low risk, high reward imo

He was a cap casualty and probably buckled under the pressure of his contract. I think he will flourish in Florida

Honestly thought he'd just get a minimum contract

i understand that, so as soon as you are bought out you can sign with another team, no matter the date?

He was actually really solid his first year in Vancouver. Took a huge step back last year (although he apparently was playing with a broken foot)

I don't like the $ amount but since it's only 1 year, fine.
I guess plan is for him to replace Marc Staal.

According to analytics, his on-ice value last year was $900,000 and it is expected to go down this year. Brutal signing.

He gets to play way less and without pressure. He was crap at previous caphit, not much of a risk as bottompair who can fill in at time to time

You don't pay your bottom pair $2.25 million. He was second pair last season and he was a liability with that role. He won't get better.

Luke Schenn 3x 2,75?
Atleast OEL still can find an opening pass time to time, although you are right he has declined badly in the previous two years.
I still think it was partly due to the pressure of getting paid too much in a way more intense market.
Now he can relax and might actually be worth his paycheck. And 1 year luckily is no big risk.
