That's term is scary, but he's a legit top 6 player. Will likely be a decent signing.

They’ve got the space, so why not use it? Great signing.

He got his Cup rings now he get the BAG. Good for him and I'm sure this AAV lessens the sting of losing him for Tampa fans.

I honestly don't understand what Anaheim is doing today, their deals are all over the place

I would understand if this was 1-2 years. Are they saying they won’t be competing for 3-4 years?

Guy is about to be 34 and snagged a 4 year 6.25M.

Ducks better not be burning their space too quick. Still got Zegras + Terry that need extensions.

They honestly should be smarter on how they're spending money. They're not really in tank mode anymore. Got a lot of big extensions coming soon.

With this UFA class, most people should've expected Killorn to get overpaid. Anaheim still has a ton of cap space. And the cap will probably go up in the upcoming seasons. But the last two seasons of that deal probably won't look too good.

Guess you have to pay premium for those rings, but that's just too much term with that amount of aav.

Awful term. They would be better off giving him 8 million for 2 years.

Good player. Zegras needs a character veteran to get him in line.

Well, that certainly addresses the problem of weakness at RW.

I'm really happy with this signing, too.

There is no way they expect him to play out this contract. He will be 34 at the start of the season. He went the College route, so he has less miles on his body than a player who came up in Canadian Junior and jumped right to pro, so I guess there is a possibility that he maintains his play a bit longer than a normal player, but I wouldn't bank on it.

If you see him as a big difference maker like Giroux in Ottawa, then I guess it is justifiable.

That's what I'm not getting. Arizona is doing the same thing but only over 1-2 years. Doing contracts like this and Gudas over 3-4 years is signalling that cap space isn't important to them in that time frame, which to me at least, means they don't see themselves being super competitive until what 2028?

For most 34 years olds I'd agree. But one of Killers biggest strengths is his ability to stay healthy and he's always in great shape

Signing a middle 6 soon to be 34 y.o. to that contract is insane.

CHI, ARZ and ANA are spending like drunk sailors.

I wouldn’t take a 1st round draft pick with that albatross of a contract lol just pay 12 million AAV over 2 years. They are wasting cap when they expect to be competitive

Probably 1 mil AAV and 1 year longer than ideal, but looking at the guys game log, he stays healthy, so long as he stays fit and we get a solid 2.5-3 seasons out of him, this contract will be fine.

Solves the 2RW problem we have, provides veteran mentorship, and with Silf and Rico's deals expiring next season, shouldn't have any cap issues. Only big RFA to sign at the contract midpoint will be McTavish and probably Drysdale, Carlsson's first deal comes up when this one is over.
