They should have signed that Jagr kid from Europe instead.

Send him to Rockford, not quite ready yet.

What do you think his P bonuses are??

I wish they would list what he would need to do to qualify for his performance bonuses

Where would I find that info?

Here's an article outlining what Bedard has to do to earn his performance bonuses. I think he hits type A no problem.

The NHL-CHL transfer agreement taught me that he's nowhere near good enough for the AHL until he plays at least one more WHL season.

that 4,450,000 million could've afforded 5.7 league minimum grinders!

Thanks for posting that. I’m going to break from the trend here and provide a serious comment.

These look like pretty reasonable bonus criteria, not just a loophole to get around the entry-level contract maximum. I guess he only needs to hit on 4 of the 9 Type A criteria to get the $1M maximum for that bonus. Most of them look achievable, and some will effectively count as two (for example, if he gets 60 points, he automatically meets the 0.73 points per game requirement), but he will have to earn them – he won’t get them just for showing up (though I’ll be surprised if he isn’t among the team’s top 6 forwards in time on ice, especially if it’s a per-game average so an injury wouldn’t prevent him from reaching it).

I assume he only needs to hit on one of the Type B criteria to get the $2.5M payout, but he needs to be close to an elite player right out of the gate just to hit on one of them, especially since the Calder is not included among the list of trophies. (The Richard is redundant, because he can’t win that without being in the top 10 in goals, and the Conn Smythe seems like a joke, but I guess they have to pretend they’re trying to win the cup.) I wouldn’t be surprised to see him do it, but not all superstars were great their first year in the league.

Only diehard bedard fans will vote yes to this delusional contract.

Delusional person you are much like most that voted and commented. Guess lots of people don't understand the written CBA or how a STANDARD ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT works... sigh 😔

Personally, I wouldn't have given someone without pro experience a 3-year contract.

Chicago should’ve signed me instead. I can be more valuable. I put up 62 points one season.
