Brad Marchand named captain of the Boston Bruins

Despised by pretty much everyone outside of Boston, but apparently loved and respected at home. I guess that's all that matters. But he'll never be forgiven for that cheap shot elbow to then NJD Marcus Johansson's head in 2017-18. I hope they crash and burn this season under his "leadership."

What do you define "Home" as. I live in Nova Scotia and I can tell you with confidence he isn't love or respected here by the majority of people.

Marchand will never leave Boston, I’ll just say that

Marchand is absolutely still a good leader, he may be an absolute rat on the ice but I have no doubt of his leadership abilities

I suppose putting leadership in quotes may have given the wrong impression. I have no doubt that his teammates respect him b/c of his skill and his willingness to do pretty much anything to gain a competitive edge, including cheap shots, dirty plays, and even licking opponents in the playoffs.

They might miss the playoffs this season or next, but it's hard to imagine them as sellers at the TDL. Still way too much elite talent and grit in their lineup.

I think they are going to be a nasty team to play against. Lot of low scoring games. They got elite goaltending, defense and powerplay. And guessing they are going to play fairly composed 5 on 5 game.
Squeezing in at wildcard spor perhaps?

With the news that Dvorak will miss the 1st month, I think we'll put Dvorak on LTIR, try to get as close to using all of Dvo's LTIR cap then Price can go on in season LTIR giving us much more wiggle room

Ducks hesitating to work on a long term deal with Zegras and instead go for a 3-4m bridge makes 0 sense

Some news from the first day of Training Camp yesterday:

- Cole Sillinger is now wearing #4 instead of #34, citing Taylor Hall's time in Edmonton as his inspiration.

- Captain Boone took a puck up high and left early. Not expected to be serious, but Pazzi doesn't know the full story yet.

- Coby Maeir had some good things to say about Denton Mateychuk and James Malatesta, praising Matey's poise and Malatesta's work ethic (the kid's a f*cking animal). Neither of them are making the big team, but they're set for big years in the minors.

- Kent Johnson balled out on a line with JG and Hunter McKown, making David Jiricek look like he needed a map on one specific play (which is both a blessing and a curse).

Good work, all things considered

Keller-Hayton-Schmaltz
Maccelli-Cooley-Zucker

Has the potential to be one of the better top 6 groups in the league. Cooley looks like he’ll easily be able to put up a barzal level rookie season.

Cooley could be legit but a line of him and Maccelli needs a guy like Crouse to give them the space they need.

AZ has some interesting roster decisions at forward. A guy like Boyd might not even have a spot which is kinda crazy

The new Jets jerseys have joined the likes of the Burger King LAK jersey and the 2011 Islanders alternates as one of my least favourite jerseys at all time. That thing is disgustingly bad. What are the Jets doing?

Zucker is a great forechecker and can protect the puck a lot better than crouse.

Yeah they’re deep at forward. A perfect mix of stars and young players with the potential to be stars. Wouldn’t Be surprised if Guenther breaks out and puts up 30 goals

Why the heck did Ottawa give Joseph that contract? Because he looked great for like 10 games after the trade? They’re about to give up a first to get rid of him so they can sign Pinto lmao
