Good for Stetcher. I think that maybe, in Edmonton, they can really use him for what he's worth (like they did in Arizona)

Edmonton desperately needs D Depth and they did it by moving down 3 rounds. Stetcher isn't the best player, but it's an area Edmonton lacks in.

Not the RHD I was hoping for but I guess depth is a good thing.

A 4th round pick is about what I'd pay for a guy like Stecher.

Fair deal.

I really like this for the Oilers. Ive always liked Stetcher, getting him and a pick this year for a late pick that is a few drafts away was very savvy by the Oilers. Easy W for Edmonton

Not an improvement of the top 6, money not well spent.

Will Stecher even make the lineup? I mean it's a small price but probably unnecessary for Edmonton.

Interesting that they took a 2027 pick. That's a long way off.

Oilers didn't have any unconditional 4ths until 2027.

And the Oilers might have been the only team that offered more than a 5th for Stecher.

That would be my guess.

Stetcher is a +5 in 47 games with Arizona which is insane so he can probably be great on the 3rd pair for Edmonton. The oilers are only missing that top 4 d-man. Maybe they go after Savvy?

literally no reason for us to keep him, so any return is good

They have 34 picks in the next three drafts already. 20 picks in the first three rounds. So if the fourth was the best pick available they probably don't mind waiting until 2027. It's easier to pull picks from distant drafts (will Holland even be there in 2027?), so I am all in favour of stocking up the best picks possible more or less regardless of year under these circumstances.

Stecher is a fine depth add. Any trade for Savard would need cap out like Cody Ceci.

I much rather they go after Buchnevich as they still need top6 help as Henrique is better suited on the third line.
Seravelli saying Armstrong wants two 1sts equivalent and a roster player.
A 2025 1st, Broberg, 2024 2nd and Foegele should get it done at half retained for 2 playoff runs, I think, is well worth it!

Holland's contract ends this summer. He's definitely stealing from the next GM. cool

Foegele is outscoring Buchnevich at 5v5. I don't see any point in adding him to the trade.

Stecher is fine on the 3rd pairing, gives them some depth and options when fast skating teams turn Desharnais into a pylon.

Why does Edmonton need so much offense? I really think it's that top 4 guy that's missing but they have enough star power on offense no?
