At what point does BUF have to keep Eichel and hope he's a point per game player next season. His value would rise substantially. From a BUF perspective, Eichel's stock is at its lowest level ever. Why trade him this summer? Just because he wants to be traded? Eichel will never pull a P.L.D. and give up on his teammates or refuse to play. He's got some character. Why not start the season with him and see where it goes. Maybe he lights it up and his value soars. I just can't see giving him away for a solid prospect and a 1st rounder. Only 8 months ago, he was considered a Hart Trophy favorite heading into the season.

BUF must say: We want a top quality NHL roster player like Kakko or Suzuki (for example only, lol), or a top prospect like Zegras. Elite prospects/young players like Byfield and Alexis are clearly off the table They also need a 1st rounder in 2022. Anything less than a guaranteed NHL player who is younger than Eichel...No Deal. They'll never get full value at this point, but they must get a potential top line player.

Apparently, Adam Pelech is looking at Trouba's $56M contract as a comp. Cherrypicking an overpaid contract for a Defenseman is not a viable argument for Pelech. Nor did he put up 50 points in a contract year, like Trouba did in his last season in WPG. Don't get me wrong, Pelech deserves to get paid. I said the same thing when Andy Greene was a FA. But, Anything over $5M AAV is just silly for a one dimensional D.

Jonas Brodin looks to be a good comparable. Pelech probably deserves the same contract. Defensive metrics are basically equal, Pelech has better offensive metrics while Brodin produces more points and is better on the PK. You could argue Pelech deserves slightly less and I might agree. 5.5-6.5 on 7 years seems fair. I also think it’s worth noting that in the respective contract years by each, Pelech had more than 10% extra defensive zone starts than Brodin did which may contribute to his lack of offence in comparison. Not to mention the defensive style of play the Islanders have.

Brodins contract also looks to be pretty fair as opposed to Troubas.

Am I the only one that thinks the best decision in the history of Houston is switching this year to almost full time Kachina’s?
*Honourable mention to the purple retro’s*

This logo might be a bit better, but the Kachina jerseys are way, way better.

They had Kachina home jerseys this year, and I’m pretty sure they’re going to use Kachina road jerseys this upcoming season as well.

I loathe those jerseys. Coyotes should look like...coyotes, not 2-D foxes on skates. IMO, the best reverse retros are the classic throwbacks such as the gorgeous Avs Nordiques jerseys. Simply magnificent. The Hurricanes gray Whalers throwback is pretty good too, and I actually like the sleek Boston and Detroit solid color (white and yellow, respectively) looks.

If they are asking for more than a 2nd they be asking for way to much. Lehner and other goalies went for a 2nd at most. The guys who got more were RFA's (Freddie, Schneider, etc.)

I think that’s crazy, everyone knew the Lehner trade was a steal at the time and Kuemper’s been one of the premier goalies in the league for several years running on one of the worst teams. He was the vezina frontrunner in 19-20 prior to his injury, was 7th in sv% in 18-19 and 3rd in 19-20, and put up a respectable .910 on a coyotes team that still sucked this year. He’s a high level starting goalie and pretending otherwise is stupid. He’ll fetch at least a 1st+prospect, especially retained.

So I heard Carolina went back to Hamilton. The issue for Waddell is Hamilton wanted 8mill while Waddell wanted to give him a Krug deal. Now that problem has only gotten bigger as look at all the RD who got signed

Heiskenen 8.45x8yrs
Makar 9x8yrs
Jones 9.5x8yrs

Waddell better open up his check book cause the asking price may have gone up lul. Cause I cant see Hamilton making less than 8mill at the minimum

ZAR will be qualified its only 1mill and he does so much for the team and is a solid depth guy. Unless losing Tanev changed that plan I see him signing 3 years at around 1.1mill

The big surprise is Sweeney has given QA to Kase and Ritchie. Ritchie's is 2mill and Kase's is 2.6mill.
