Klingberg > McNabb

Sens decline

Liljegren has been better than Subban this season.

Ducks decline

The stars trade is pretty crazy but I can see the value being fairly even

Klingberg is a monster offensively and is much better than mcnabb, he'll make your forwards and powerplay even better than they are

Subban is washed up so he's not worth liljegren

I think zergras is untouchable for the ducks or they'd have to be offered a young (already solidified) star in return for him

So other than Zegras, whom the Ducks aren't trading, you traded a point per game winger, a 1st, 2 of the teams most promising young players and handful of other picks for 2 meager defensive rentals and Drake Batherson. Even proposing this would get you fired as an NHL GM and we should be thankful Dubas won't be trying to replicate it.

Every team declines except jersey, they laugh in your face.
Dallas doesn't have the cap space, Robertson is going to be just as good as marner, if not better the way he's playing right now. He's already a point per game player and getting better in his second year on the league. They are also competing this year so they aren't trading a top defenseman.
McNabb might be had for a second or third, that's a huge overpay. The only way Vegas accepts that trade is if they send klingberg somewhere and get full value for him, as they don't have the cap space for him.
Batherson is one off Ottawa's best players who's locked up for long term to what looks like is going to be as very team friendly deal. They easily pass Amirov and a late first isn't enough for them to want to do that. Mrazek and Ritchie don't add anything for them.
If Toronto offered Liljegren to NJ for Subban, the Devils don't hesitate and say no tradsies backsies.
Don't see Anaheim parting with Zegras, he's looking more and more like a stud.

Other than the stars not having the cap space for Marner, that's more than they would ever give up. Robertson is already a point per game player and he started off pretty slow. Take out Klingberg and the first and the value is probably pretty close, that doesn't include the cap issues.

I agree with the rest of this statement though.

Subban isn't washed up at all. He has been a lot better this year than last year (which was much better than his awful 2019-20 season).
Devils could pay half this salary easily to make AAV $4.5 million.

Alright, the trade the poster presented wasn't great.

Your response was worse.

lol at "Kyle Dubas can’t replicate something like this by the deadline, he needs to be fired for lack of intuition and creativity." then proceeds with these unrealistic trades

I mean, it must be trolling, right?

Anyway, Ottawa declines without even thinking

Ritchie and Mrázek are cap dumps for them

A prospect like Amirov, a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick are always nice pieces to have but the Sens need Batherson, not futures.

Batherson is the main offensive catalyst (until Stutzle peaks) and is on a sweetheart contract for the next 6 years

What do you define as washed up then? He's certainly not worth Liljgeren.

I mean, the title and explanation clearly point towards troll/joke thread and then the trades basically confirm.
but even so yeah, these are awful for the leafs etc.

this is the good stuff. two firsts a very good young defender + is the same as a 1st, middling winger and a prospect and Zegras is the same as matthews. Wonderful comparison.

Forget that Ritchie and Mrazek are cap dumps.

Forget that Amirov + Dallas' 1st + Dallas' 2nd is likely not enough value for Batherson, unless the 1st is a top 10 pick at least.

Forget that you would need to get Dallas to accept the first trade before you can make the trade with Ottawa.

Forget that Ottawa and Toronto are division rivals.

You know absolutely nothing about what both Ottawa and Toronto need.

Toronto needs help at LW while Ottawa needs help at RW.

In this trade, you're giving Ottawa's best RW to Toronto and Toronto's best LW prospect to Ottawa.

A real GM wouldn't be this daft.

This is a farce.

Try again.

Hard no’s almost all across the board.

But specifically with Ottawa, that doesn’t get the least bit of interest out of Dorion. Don’t mean to rub salt in the wound but I promise Dubas could come I with something better than these.

Depends on the team...and how much $ is retained. Assuming 50% retained, maybe 2nd/3rd and/or prospect. Maybe a decent change-of-scenary roster player who could potentially help Devils in short term.

If you think that 2 late firsts and an average dman prospect is worth Zegras than i understand why you thought my comment was a legitimate offer

Sandin projects to be an average top 4 dman comparable to sergachev, Zegras projects to be somewhere near Patrick Kane level….

well for one, Sergachev isnt an average top 4 defender.
for two, by his 20 year old season, Kane had 2 games shy of 2 full seasons played, 46 goals and over 140 points to Zegras' less than 25 games and 40 points so pump those breaks
and for three, it was about the value of the comparisons, again. IE not only was the comparison of the trade values hilariously different, the comparison of Zegras to Matthews was even funnier
