No one on MTL's roster is worth that return from NSH.

Avs say no - there is no reason for them to trade Barron for Chiarot.

The picks/prospects are on the wrong side in the NSH and DET deals.

That’s a lie, Chiarot sucks and Barron could play just as well on the 3rd pairing considering COL 3rd pairing get about 13 minutes. But roll with the patented MTL answer of why teams will over pay. COL doesn’t want or need a guy like Chiarot. Easy easy no, you don’t trade a guy you project into a top 4 roll in 2 seasons for a rental that doesn’t fit what you do at all. You tried to show horn a trade that doesn’t work for COL because you wanted to add Barron.

i would rather play Barron over Chiarot anyday of the week. Barron can skate and move the puck, Chiarot can not

Oh, well, in that case, I'll take your word for it and give you a 20 y/o D with top 4 potential and can skate very well that could play right now for your 30 y/o D that's a 5/6 and isn't playing well. Seems like a good deal.

I highly doubt that Nashville would trade any one of those assets for Brendan Gallagher, let alone any two, let alone all three.

Calgary and Detroit have instantaneous No's. Colorado and New Jersey take a second or two longer.

Toffoli is a decent player on a reasonable contract. But Calgary fans have seen the Pelletier-and-a-first proposal (with or without something extra) for him many times, and all of them have universally objected to it.

Detroit might, just might, be interested in Petry, cheap. But neither the second nor Zadina is "cheap."

Colorado isn't going to exchange a future top-4 defense prospect for a quarter of a season of Chiarot.

Armia might be worth a fourth. He has 5 points in 32 games; Carl Grundstrom has 6 goals and 9 points in 28 in less playing time.

What do Rangers fans think Kravtsov can pull in? Most industry speculation thinks a second, which Lehkonen is better than.

Disagree, History has always shown teams are willing to trade prospects for guys who can get them THROUGH the playoffs. Colorado needs these kind of guys, and Chairot showed this last year. Exactly the type of dman you want and need for the playoffs. But thats ok, Colorado fans can keep seeing their team losing in the second round, since they dont have guys to get you through the playoffs.

Wrong. He is playing well and would be a stellar add for a cup contending team to get them through the playoffs. Chiarot showed this last season.

According to who? You? It’s so tired for guys like you to justify a trade because COL lost in the 2nd rd. 3yrs ago they were the 8th seed, 2 years ago they are starting their 3rd goalie in games 6 and 7, last year because of the covid schedule quirk which a crappy MTL team took advantage of COL lost to a team tied with them in the regular season for most points all while not having Kadri, Newhook, Byram, and EJ. COL isn’t trading for Chiarot, COL isn’t trading Barron for a rental. I tell you what, if COL makes that trade I’ll Venmo you $100 if they don’t you Venmo me $5.

I would put Gallagher in the same return category as viktor Arvidsson. Arvidsson was a little more injury prone but had a much more favorable contract and had some 60+ point seasons vs 50s. So a 2nd + a 3rd.

Conflict with management, refusing to report, and going back to play in Russia, are all red flags that make GMs nervous. It really hurts his value.
I understand there are circumstances involved, but it doesn't negate the risk of it repeating in another organization. It's difficult to dispel those concerns once they materialize.

I'd estimate his value around a 2nd currently. Nobody is actively seeking an unproven winger with proven issues. NY is going to have to shop him around, and someone like Lehkonen isn't a bad return.
Montreal isn't going to ask for Kravtsov, they are going to be trying for Lundkvist. If NY counters with Kravtsov however, they might consider it.

Based on what Rangers fans are telling me they think hes worth a top prospect whos in the same boat as kratvsov and a first.

well well well. It wasn't Chiarot, but I was bang on the trade return. Barron and a second for Lehkonen. Not a rental so I guess you keep your $100.

Would have been even baller if you said deal at the time instead. But you didn’t. Next time sack up.
