Yup. How do you not check if a player has clauses in his contract before acquiring him?
Oh. This player has a NTC. Hey Dorion, make sure you send over his NTC list. You don't have it?
Okay, let me check with his agent.
He doesn't have it either? Check with central registry.
They don't have it?
Talk to the player. Hey, nobody has your NTC list on file. Check with your agent and figure it out or we can't honor it.

I don’t think the Justin Barron acquisition changes if you draft a RD or not. Unless the Habs pick at 1 or 2, I’d probably take Nemec. Then later If they all develop you can trade a RD for helpe elsewhere but it’s not anywhere except the draft you can find a #1D. Nemec is really good offensively and defensively too and he’s 6 foot. I personally think he will be better than Clarke or Drysdale

Getting Barron allows us to take BPA regardless of draft position. That's what I'm hoping for.

Yeah that’s a good thing. So you don’t reach for position and pass on a better player.

I think the best fits for Montreal are Wright, Cooley, Nemec and Slafkvosky in that order.

draft the best player available. trying to draft for a position of need with a top pick is how you end up with kotkaniemi instead of tkachuk

Why are they doing the WJC in August and not like early June so teams can watch draft eligible prospects before they pick them

I 100% agree. But let’s say there’s a group of 4-5 players that are pretty much the same value, you can draft for need lol. This wasn’t the case in 2018 with Kotkaniemi tho

Don't avoid them, but stick to BPA. If you plan to go off board, try to trade down at least.
My preference for RD was Jiricek, but I don't know what his projection is now with his injury. If he's fully recovered and dropping out of the top 10, I'd like to trade up or down to take him with a 2nd selection in the 1st round. (Assuming we aren't picking #1.)

re - dadanov... if capfriendly has the details that he has a ntc... idc if the sens dont tell the knights. idc if the knights knew about it at all. thats on them. thats like buying something fragile and not checking the box for dents. due diligence. i really hope this bites vegas in the butt.
