Red wings this year

Waived

5.25mill Vrana
3mill Ned
2.1mill Erne

All in 1 season

Got to be a record

At least 2 of them are expiring this year. Yzerplan is definitely hurting his GOAT GM status though with this year.

I can see why they put this All-Star game in Florida, they can blame it on the ****ty ass fans, not the ****ty ass planners.

It's in Florida because that was the only location they figured was guaranteed not to have COVID lockdowns.

Send them to Atlanta and bring the Thrashers back.
NHL in Georgia deserves a better fate.

+100%.
Give a team to Atlanta and it will be in Canada within a decade.

This is the worst all star game of all time. Except ovi jr part

I don't think there is a way of fixing it. Once the NHL expanded beyond 16 teams, I don't think it worked anymore. I always liked the idea of every team being represented (fans of these bad teams, who are often struggling attendance wise too and want something to cheer), but that also means that some stars are left home.
Now with 32 teams, only 8 could supply multiple players. Now, 44 players attend. I might think 4 on 4 would be better and let 12 players per Division. Also, have a consolation final just to have an extra game.

The skills are ok if they stick to real skills.

Nobody, outside of their respective fanbases) wants to see the likes of Seth Jones, Brock Nelson, Troy Terry, Naz Kadri, Kevin Hayes, etc... They're nice guys, I'm sure. But they add very little to the fan experience. Bottom-feeder teams don't need to be rewarded at the ASG. That's what the Draft is for. The entire weekend was a financial loss for the league. That doesn't have to be the case. Give the players something real to play for and get rid of the B-list All Stars. Start there.

Why don't the Panthers utilize Miami Vice colors in any capacity? I get it's a little overdone, but those neon pinks and blues work so well, especially against black jerseys. The Atlantic Allstar jerseys are some of my favourite. Absolutely love them and it's a shame they aren't a more permanent fixture in the NHL.

They do on special jerseys

Kind of how the Leafs dont use certain colours on theirs but u can buy the jersey as a special collectors item

Dare I say this move has gotten a little stale? That being said, I've never seen anyone keep the puck that far below the crossbar while pulling it off.

The NHL knows the event is a loss, per Bettman, the ASG is usually a loss but they still do it anyways

I guess for the average person that might be true, but I hated seeing Suzuki there. He shouldn't be there so why would I want him to be there? It's called the All-Star game, not the best player from each team game.

Call me crazy, but I think they should just go back to Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference. The 25 best players from each conference (22 skaters, 3 goalies) are all stars, regardless of team. Problem solved.

Maybe have a prospects game as well, along with the actual skills challenges that they used to have instead of trying to come up with the dumbest things for the all stars to do instead.

Didn't mind the fantasy draft either. I'd love if they took winners from each individual teams all star game's competition and put them against each other. (Byron in fastest skater for example). Have the actual best player in that certain area compete against other players in that area.

Why do Leafs fans think Nick Robertson is an elite prospect?

Over the last 5 seasons, he’s a 3C at even strength . He’s great on the powerplay

I mean when healthy he is. He has still a tonne of potential but just seems to get unlucky with the injury bugs and Covid hampering the development timeline

Like if we look last year after coming back from a leg injury he had 28 points in 28 games for the Marlies

Then u got this year with the game against Dallas where for the first time none of the big 4 needed to score for us to win. If he can just avoid injuries can see him being a solid wing for us

He's consistently been a 50-65 Point player thats 2C production lol, and he's gotten 19 - 20 Minutes TOI lmao. Definitely not a 3C I'm not a huge fan but he's a 2C playing like a 1C this year.

He’s averaged 55 points over his career. This year he’s having an outlier season, a lot of his production comes on the PP. He’s usually a very mediocre even strength plus r

Top 6 forwards put up more than 2 points per 60
