That’s a no from Columbus. They don’t need another wing, or overpaid depth. They need a 1c and Granlund isn’t that.

I must not know who Alexandre Carrier is, because I would trade our 2023 second-round draft pick for Kaiden Guhle without Montreal's third accompanying him. And I'd still feel guilty that I was cheating the poor Habs.

If I thought Duchene could play center still I'd think about it.

Cold day in hell before Larkin signs long term with a team that's even worse than Detroit.

You can only offer Larkin 7 years at free agency, And there's no way Poile is offering Larkin $10,000,000 per.

Vancouver isn't trading Brock Boeser for a more expensive injury prone Ryan Johansen. Vancouver is trying to cut salary not add a more expensive player.

Detroit passes as well, You're stuck with both Duchene and Johansen. No GMs are giving up assets to Poile for both players with out major sweeteners being added to both.

Carrier would have to be on the same level as Power for this to make any sense at all

I will give you that this is an abysmal trade, but that’s a horrible take.

A former 1st overall pick to MTL for Guhle and a third is disgusting value for BUF

If a Chychrun deal falls through, assuming that’s who you’re talking about, Ekholm is your second best bet. I would think that the Kings should at least take a look at him. If so, how much cap would have to go back to NSH for it to work

Honestly it's closer than Carrier to MTL for Guhle and a 3rd...

i would say yes but there's so many negative connotations that come for columbus with this. If so, Granlund is a nice 2C, but so is Boone. Neither are good enough for 1C or **** enough for 3C. And while both could play wing, Columbus' wings are already crowded.

Is Duchene really a cap dump anymore. No one should pay much for him, but he’s been at a ppg over this year, last year, and the 2021 playoffs. He’s actually pretty solid

8 million for 4 more years? Plus, he has 43 points in 50 something games! But he's also a complete defensive liability.

So yes, he is a capdump.

He’s on quite possibly the worst offensive team in the league, which hinders his point production. He’s been great offensively, and analytics show that he isn’t a complete defensive liability. Like I said, no team should pay much for him, but if he continues being a solid point per game player in a bad team, then I could see him being traded next year and fetching a good return

He isn't at a PPG pace. He's at a .8 PPG.
Also, only way he gets dealt to a contending team if there's any cash retained. As you said, analytics show he isn't a "complete" defensive liability, but he still is. That 8M is too much to eat up when you consider Larkin is probably gonna be signed at 9, when he is actually at a PPG pace and is also extremely good two way.

He fetches at most two 2nds with 25% retained.

Like I said in the last post, I'm talking about the past two seasons, where he's right around a ppg. In any Duchene trade, there's gotta be cash retained. I'm saying that as the TDL approaches next year, a 2m retained Duchene at around a ppg should be a hot commodity.
