Large amount of my blues fan peers are frothin at the mouth this am to fire Doug Armstrong.
Hard to swallow Berube taking the L, but also, no clue what expectations were set for him.
I often find it hard to be negative about my team, unless sarcasm. I also really like a lot of the individuals on this Blues team.
But one thing I do feel strongly is that this current team is probably the least likable I’ve experienced in many years. (I watched Brett Hull play with Adam Oates do the math). It isn’t the people, or the style, or the effort - it’s just a pure lack of identity I guess. There is no strong feelings I get inside that makes me think “that guy will come out and make a great play” or “they’ll come back this game”. There is no set of plays or actions i could define as being “blues-like” right now. Nothing. I haven’t even been upset when they’ve lost. It has been hard to care. It’s like both the team and I are going thru the motions.
Also, 2 years ago I criticized Kyrou on this site and the number of hateful opinions directed my way was staggering. Now they’re all saying what I said. Lol. Kyrou is a bonafide nhler, but if you think he’s anything besides complimentary offense then you’re probably wrong. He’s definitely not a skater I want on the ice with 30 seconds to go in a game, as battling for pucks is much more important than transition speed in critical moments.
