It’s Alexandria, Virginia…so its a fairly urban setting. Got to go another hour or two before you cue John Denver

But it has Virginia in the lyrics good enough

I believe they have scheduled a press conference tomorrow to announce Potomac Yard site…and read that some have already seen the renderings for a mixed-use ‘mini city’ (I think near a Target).

It’s an interesting story to see two jurisdictions fight over a team (that’s not really relocating). Wonder what they next show to drop with be.

It's not far from where Amazon built their new headquarters. Can kind of see the kind of clientele they're targeting with the new location.

There is a sleepy, artsy, crunchy neighborhood a couple blocks west, George Washington’s old plantation a couple miles south, most of the military-industrial complex a few blocks north…and tons of transplants around it from all over country. It’s an interesting location.

Also, usually these battles between two jurisdictions involve the possibility of a team relocating. Few places have the two battling within one city (or “beltway” or whatever they call it).

I was wondering why Karlsson and Letang had 7 goals combined (on ice) and 4 against. Two big PP guys at only a +3 differential with 4 shorties surrendered is pretty surprising.

Probably researching replacement options at least. No rush to fire him at this point as playoffs are improbable anyway. Take your time and get the right guy.

I wish it were 0%...he can't score from d-zone.

(and see above)

That's my point...

ZS are good to use when a player is neck and neck with another and it's bc of ZS, take Q Hughes and Makar... But if one only started in the OZ and the other was 50-50... minus that one scenario, zone starts are useless

Dunno, never seen the movie. Alexandria, Virginia is a city in Northern Virginia that is across the Potomac River from DC. The Potomac Yard site location is an old rail yard that has been developed in recent years with condos, large box stores and is wedged between Arlington/Chrystal City to the North (where the pentagon and a lot of large defense contractors are), old town Alexandria (old historical area with centuries old red brick buildings) to the south, Del Ray (quiet, artsy neighborhood) to the west, and Potomac River to the east. We may see more details and renderings today.

Large amount of my blues fan peers are frothin at the mouth this am to fire Doug Armstrong.

Hard to swallow Berube taking the L, but also, no clue what expectations were set for him.

I often find it hard to be negative about my team, unless sarcasm. I also really like a lot of the individuals on this Blues team.

But one thing I do feel strongly is that this current team is probably the least likable I’ve experienced in many years. (I watched Brett Hull play with Adam Oates do the math). It isn’t the people, or the style, or the effort - it’s just a pure lack of identity I guess. There is no strong feelings I get inside that makes me think “that guy will come out and make a great play” or “they’ll come back this game”. There is no set of plays or actions i could define as being “blues-like” right now. Nothing. I haven’t even been upset when they’ve lost. It has been hard to care. It’s like both the team and I are going thru the motions.

Also, 2 years ago I criticized Kyrou on this site and the number of hateful opinions directed my way was staggering. Now they’re all saying what I said. Lol. Kyrou is a bonafide nhler, but if you think he’s anything besides complimentary offense then you’re probably wrong. He’s definitely not a skater I want on the ice with 30 seconds to go in a game, as battling for pucks is much more important than transition speed in critical moments.

Carlsson and Letang are good defenders, but they can't do it all by themselves.
