Switch the 4th to a 7th and you have a deal with LA. But only if we can find the cap space for him. Once Avidsson comes back they only have like 100k in cap space so would have to somehow find room for 1m in cap.

don't think mtl would use their last retention spot on a two year deal if they are only getting a UFA back

Montreal also wouldn't move a goalie+ in a trade that doesn't resolve their 3 goalie rotation issue.

Devils decline. We don't have roster spots for forwards unless there's a major injury

I mean he's a top defence forward in the league, 26 years old, big, bargain contract for 6 years, can pot 50 points a year. Pretty good deal imo

Yea that is the ballpark of what I would want as the Wild's GM, not gonna lie. JEE is the Wild's most important player outside of 97.

I don't even think we'd give up that much for Kaprizov

Lekkeremaki and Willander project as top of the lineup type guys, plus another 1st is too much. I like JEE and realize his contract is a bargain but I wouldn't touch this deal. Take out Willander and we could talk. But thats how far off I think it is from Van perspective.

Ya cause Vancouver doesn't need a player like Kaprisov. They have two of the top offensive players in the league and the best offensive dman in the league. kaprisov would be redundant

Ahh I don't think that so much as giving up your two best prospects and a 1st in a hard cap league would just cripple the team. Especially with Petey, Hronek needing new deals.

Has a team ever traded 3 1sts for one player in the cap era? Eichel maybe but even that a lot of the value was in a roster player.

Kesler was a 30g-70 point perennial Selke nominee and he went for a 1st + middle six center + young tweener defenseman.

Horvat was a 30g-60 point center who ran VAN special teams, he went for a 1st + prospect + cap dump

ROR was a 30g-70 point defensive center and earned Buffalo a 1st + faltering top prospect (at the time) + 2nd + two cap dumps.

You're not getting more than a 1st + prospect + prospect+ roster player for JEE unless you're taking cap back, and even then the cap market isn't as tight as it was one or two seasons ago.

Canucks decline. We traded Horvat because we didn’t want an expensive 3C that we couldn’t afford, we’re not giving up 3 1sts to get a different expensive 3C that will cause us to lose other major pieces.

In what world would a rebuilding team not making the playoffs would pay 2 prospects for a 39 years old UFA goaltender....

It's a rhetorical question, plz don't.

bro ror and horvat were pending UFAs lmfao. JEE has 6 years left on his deal at one of the best cap hits in the entire league. u good?

edit: kesler got deal like what? 10 years ago? and retired 4 years ago? cool

You're right and we accept
What MAF could do for Monty is worth it.
Allen will be gone to EDM likely for much less then Hughes was hoping for since they're no longer as deperate.

I like Primeau and am excited for his Tandem with Monty going forward
BUT if MAF was available for that price? im in on the Gamble hoping it helps Monty become a steady Starter
MAF is a Machine and if any of his Insights or habits rub off on Monty then this deal paid for itself.
Why? MTL's biggest question mark until Fowler develops is Goaltending
This solidifies that all while helping MAF hit new NHL record levels in a MTL Jersey

ROR was traded in 2018, his contract was up in 2023. There were as many years left on his deal as on JEE's current term when ROR was dealt

Horvat was dealt with an extension in place, it wasn't as a one off rental.

Kesler was dealt 10 years ago, and the market hasn't moved much on Selke nominees.
