EDM won't. Most of these are insultingly bad.

Probably the Habs.

My guess is they don't get what they want for Monahan and will re-sign him to a 3 year deal.

habs fans are going to be very let down when he finally gets traded if this is what they think the return will be

Lindholm is a top 6 center who has recently received a Selke nomination. Monahan is a 3rd line center who makes his biggest impact on the PP. The difference in value between these things isn't a cap dump, a conditional 4th and a no name prospect.

he's not lindholm. drastically lower your expectations. A first round pick is a minor miracle. A strong additional asset is a pipe dream.

I wouldn't trade Turcotte for Monahan 1-for-1. Get the 1st out of there.

Give Monahan the wingers Lindholm had and Monahan would be looking at Lindholm in his rear view mirror

Monohan may get injured before the deadline. He has a history of serious injuries near the end of the season and most GMs know that.

I figure this will be the best trade offer the Habs get. I've said it for a while Monahan will fetch a 2nd.

His value isn't going to essentially double.
1st and/or a lesser prospect tops, likely with other considerations involved (taking back a cap dump or returning a lesser pick) if it reaches that point.
Remove one piece from each of these proposals and it's at least close.

the flames best winger is *checks notes* ... blake coleman?

anderson/slafkovsky/caufield are in the realm of what lindholm had

I would argue that all of these prospects are comfortably more valuable than any piece moved in the lindholm trade

Slaf and Cole are on a line with Suzuki

Monahan has not had a winger since Newhook and Dach went down at beginning of November. No comparison. He has had a plumber and an electrician on his wing.

They've been put in this exact situation before. Monahan did not leave Lindholm in his rear view mirror.

Most won't be let down since reasonable expectations based on comparables (none of this BS) are to get a conditionnal 1st (example 2 round with 50% games played) + top 100 pick.
